Curriculum Night

We look forward to seeing everyone next week at Curriculum Night/Open House. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 9/2 from 6:00-7:30. I’ve changed the schedule this year a little to accommodate a post teacher session principal’s message. This year’s schedule looks like this:

Classroom rotations:

Students with last names A-M 6:00 – 6:25

Students with last names N-Z 6:30 – 7:00

Principal’s message:

Session 1: 6:30 – 6:55

Session 2: 7:00 – 7:25

Please keep in mind that this is only a guide, if you need to attend the 6:30 session and your last name is A-M, that’s totally fine, we just try to break it up so the classes aren’t too full for you to have access to your child’s teacher for questions and for those of you with multiple students attending Morse.

5th Grade Instrumental Music Information Night

5th grade families, be sure to mark you calendars for Tuesday 9/1 at 7:00pm at Athens HS for our 5th grade instrumental music parent information night.

Media Center Help Needed

Our wonderful media center staff is looking for a few volunteers to help shelve books in order to keep the book check out process functioning efficiently. If you are willing and able to volunteer in this manner, please email Mrs. Jaime Lindstrom at jlindstrom@troy.k12.mi.us. Thank you in advance for considering it.

School Day Logistics

School begins at 9:09am. Dismissal for all students is at 12:59pm on the first day (4:07pm on full days). If you are dropping your student off or walking, please do not have your students arrive to school before 9:00am as we do not have staff to supervise them at that time. If you are driving your student to school and plan on using the parent drop off loop, please remember to stay in your car and form one lane next to the sidewalk (as you enter the first turn by the soccer field). Staff will assist with getting kids in and out of cars as well as directing them where to line up.

Pets on school grounds - last year we had numerous families walking their dogs with them to school. During the school day, pets are not allowed on school property (TSD policy). If you must walk your dog, please remain on the outside sidewalk along Cherry. There is a small section of grass between the parent loop and bus loop that you could stand on in order to not block the sidewalk.
