Broughton 4/5 has been busy this April.

5th graders did a great job on their exhibition projects. During their inquiry time with Ms. Jenny, students researched invasive species, gender pay gap, zero hunger, water pollution, renewable energy, and bird flu. During the exhibition unit, 4th graders studied democracy, amendments, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and civil rights history.

We also had thoughtful conversations about respectful sportsmanship in kickball. As a result, our homeroom developed a plan to fairly pick teams and follow a lineup order. Their efforts have paid off, because kickball has continued and students often cheer for one another.

Our homeroom also wanted to include a shout-out to Ms. Kali for the great food!

Please remember:

1. If your child will be late or absent please call Irene in the main office (802) 897-7181

2. Send your child with proper footwear for school (including sneakers for PE).

3. Students are not supervised outside / inside before 7:30 am.

4. If you are picking up your child at school please make sure to pick them up on the southern

side of the school NOT the northern side by the church.

5. Pick up students from the main entrance only.

6. Students need to bring proper clothing for outside recess.

Substitute teachers are crucial for our students, staff, staff, and schools! We are increasing our daily substitute teaching rate to $160/day for unlicensed subs and $200/day for licensed subs. We also added new baseball sand on both fields and added bleachers and a bench to the lower field.
