Weekly Eagle Update

September 7th - 10th

Weekly EagleUpdateSeptember 7th - 10th

Hello BOES Families!

I hope you are all enjoying your three-day weekend!

We had another great week at BOES! The book fair was so much fun for all of our students and we are very happy to bring back one more of our BOES traditions. I am also thrilled to announce that we will take another step of getting "back to normal" as we start to mix the cohorts at recess time. The students will eat with their classes at assigned tables but then all classes will be allowed to play together.

As a reminder, if all goes as planned, parent volunteers will be allowed back in the classroom starting on Monday, October 4th. If you plan on volunteering, please make sure that all of your paperwork is complete. Parents that have previously been volunteers and already have paperwork on file, do NOT need to fill out new paperwork. All new volunteers can stop by the school office for paperwork. We cannot wait to have you back in our classrooms!!!!

Have a great night and enjoy your Labor Day!

Patriot Day at BOES

We will be honoring all of our military, veterans, and first responders on Friday, September 10th with a modified ceremony. Those of you that have been at BOES a few years, know that our usual ceremony is a very special time that we come together as a school community to honor all of our heroes. This year, we will have a modified version due to COVID regulations. All of our parents who are first responders, active military, and veterans are invited to stop by the front of the school for a cup of coffee and pastry provided by our PTA from 8:30-9:00. At 9:00, a group of students will carry an American flag to the front of the school where the flag will be raised and then lowered and put at half staff to honor our country and all of the heroes that sacrifice every day for our freedom. We are also asking that all students wear red, white, and blue. While we had hoped to do our usual ceremony, we are still thankful that we are able to pay tribute to our heroes on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

Parking Lot Reminders

Thank you for your continued support of following our parking lot guidelines. We have noticed that some students are being dropped off from the parking lot in the morning. We ask that when you are dropping off that you either park and walk your child across the sidewalk OR use the drop-off line in the roundabout; not the parking lot. Please also use the crosswalk when crossing Tavern Rd.

Thank you!!!

School Site Council Ballot

Thanks to all of you for nominating people for our School Site Council. Please use the form below to vote for TWO nominees. Ballets are due by 3:00 PM on Friday, September 10th.

i-Ready

Our i-Ready assessment got off to a great start! Both the teachers and students are finding the program user-friendly and highly engaging. The research from i-Ready shows that students make the most growth with 60 minutes of practice in each reading and math. The teachers will be giving the students time to complete this in class but your student is also welcome to practice their skills at home. This will also give you an idea of what kinds of skills your child is practicing.

Water Bottles

Many of our students are forgetting their water bottles. Our supplies are very limited so we are asking that families send in a water bottle to school on a daily basis. It is also a good idea for every student to have an extra one at school that can be refilled as needed. Thank you!

Alpine Education Foundation Annual Gala

AEF's annual gala is quickly approaching and we would love to see you there! This is a fun-filled night and all proceeds go directly to AUSD schools.
