Students Participate in Conference Honors Band on Wednesday, January 30

Nine students from the Omro High School band participated in this year's honors band on Wednesday, January 30. The Flyway Conference High School Honors Band is held every two years and students are nominated from each Flyway Conference school. Those accepted meet for the day and rehearse with a guest conductor, as well as with the band directors from eight other schools. This year, the guest conductor was Dr. Tobin Shucha from Ripon College. Finally, the day culminates with a concert performance. Those students chosen to perform this year include: Faith Anderson, Leyna Hintzman, Nona Knepple, Scarlet Loos, Kaia Matthies, Marisa Percey, Felicity Richmond, Kira Stadler, and Griffen Whiteaker. Here is a short snippet from the evening. Nice job!!

Longstanding Rivalry Teams Come Together to Support Berlin Coach

The Pass the Bucket campaign at Tuesday night's girls basketball game against rival Winneconne brought in over $1100 in support of Berlin’s Head Girl's Varsity Basketball Coach and educator, Ray Mlada, as he navigates his cancer journey. With the help of a packed house, donations came in quickly as spectators were given one minute on the clock to pass and fill the bucket.

Ray was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma and is going through a series of surgeries this week to remove the tumor, reconstruct his jaw and remove affected lymph nodes. All proceeds from the game will go to help Ray and his family.

Thank you Omro Fans for all for your support!

Notice of Annual Three-Year-Old Screening

The School District of Omro will be conducting a three-year-old developmental screening on Monday, February 26, 2024 at HB Patch Elementary from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children who will turn 3 years of age by September 1, 2024 and reside within the School District of Omro boundaries are eligible to be screened. The screening is offered annually to look at the areas of fine and gross motor skills, basic school readiness skills, speech sound production and communication. If a child is found to have significant delays after being further evaluated, programming such as the Early Childhood program or Speech and Language therapy may be recommended.

A letter and questionnaire about children’s development were sent to parents of children who are on the district's census list and within the screening age. If you did not receive a letter and questionnaire for your child, please contact Jaime Ellison at (920) 303-2300 x2249 or complete the screening questionnaire online at https://www.asqonline.com/family/5b4d1d. Appointments are needed to attend the screening.
