Cougar Nation News πΎπΎ
Greetings CHS families
Welcome back to a new school year at Connally!
We are so excited to have our hallways filled again with the energy, laughter and Cougar pride that makes our school such a special place.
Our first week was an incredible success! Students returned with enthusiasm, ready to learn, connect and grow. Teachers were diving into engaging lessons and it was wonderful to see both new and returning faces settling in so smoothly.
I want to take a moment to thank our students, families and staff for making this first week such a positive one. The excitement of a fresh star is in the air and it's clear this will be a year filled with opportunities, and Cougar spirit.
We encourage everyone to stay involved, whether through athletics, fine arts, clubs or academic programs.
Here's to a fantastic year ahead. Let's keep up the momentum, support one another and continue to make our school a place where every Cougar can thrive.
Go Cougars! πΎπΎ
Connally Stars βπ
This summer, the Stars attended TBARM team camp in New Braunfels, TX. They learned football season choreography, engaged in many team bonding activities and faced their fears on the ropes course.
Camp was hosted by Crowd pleasers Dance and their staff provided skills to become "fueled" for the year ahead.
Stars feel ready for the year and can't wait to show our Cougar nation what's in store. β¨β¨
Helpful information πΎ
Phones AWAY for the DAY
I want to share an important update about a new state law that will impact all Texas schools, including Pflugerville ISD.
Beginning this school year, a new law, House Bill 1481, requires that students not use personal devices during school hours. This means that from the first bell at (9:00 am) to the last at (4:15 pm), students must keep items like cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, tablets, and gaming devices put away and out of sight. The law applies to any personal wireless device that can send or receive data, unless it's been issued by the school for instructional purposes.
Hereβs what this means in everyday terms:
- Personal cell phones, tablets, gaming devices, smartwatches, Bluetooth headphones or earbuds, and even fitness trackers that can send or receive messages must stay stored away during the school day.
- There are exceptions for students with documented medical needs or special education accommodations
This law aims to help students stay focused, reduce distractions, and create a safer and more respectful learning environment for everyone.
What Devices are Restricted:
Personal cell phones
Tablets
Gaming devices
Smart watches
Bluetooth headphones or earbuds
Fitness trackers that can send or receive messages
Personal computers not being used for instructional purposes
Two-way radios
Pagers
Any other device capable of digital communication.

Community Eligibility Provision Forms (CEP) ππ
Community Eligibility Provision Forms (CEP) are coming home starting Monday, August 25th!
These forms help determine our schoolβs eligibility for free or reduced price meals for every student. By completing and returning the completed form to your students 7th period class, youβre helping ensure all students continue to receive meals at little no cost and supporting crucial school funding. Please check in with your student and return the completed form as soon as possible.
To add a little fun we will have a little competition between 7th period classes. The first 5 classes with 100% form return will earn a pizza party! ππ
