Late drop-off and early pickup
Please remember to bring a driver's license when dropping off and picking up students from school. The safety of our students is our top priority, and having proper identification helps our school's safety process run smoothly.
In addition to having a driver's license for a student pick up during the school day, please note that the only people with the ability to pick up are the people on the student's Parent/Guardian tab on ParentVUE. Emergency contacts are only allowed to pick up in the event of an emergency, unless the parent or guardian lets the office team know ahead of time, via phone or email.
Specialty spotlight
Our specialty program is off to a great start this school year!
1st grade classrooms walked down to Oxbow Creek Park for an Insect Investigation. Students learned about insect structures and their purposes and then collected several live insects to study closely, adding scientific sketches to their science journals.
3rd Grade classes visited Mississippi Gateway Regional Park to study macro invertebrates in the river. 4th Grade students attended MGRP on the same dates for a lesson on landforms and landmarks. These were the first trips of many to MGRP. All of our classes will get opportunities to work with the excellent naturalists there and learn in the new facility.
Our 5th grade students have already completed their five day experience at STARBASE. This intense trip offers students full days of STEM learning based on the theme “Mission to Mars”. Students were able to work with a variety of technologies while experimenting and answering questions similar to those asked by actual NASA scientists while we plan the next steps in space exploration.
The Junior Master Gardener program (JMG) is off to a great start as well. 4th and 5th grade classes have had their initial lessons of the year and are eyeing October for fall clean up in the gardens.
We have a lot more in store for our students after the new year. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to see examples of the student learning! https://www.facebook.com/CBPAMES
From the PTO
Husky Fun Run Fall Fundraiser has officially kicked off, and we have a special challenge for the weekend ahead!
Any student who receives a donation this weekend will be entered to win one of two prizes: A $100 gift card to Great Wolf Lodge and a $100 gift card to Pizza Ranch! We will draw 2 names next week and notify our 2 lucky winners!
There’s still lots of time to register, share, and donate to help us reach our goal of $25,000 for student enrichment, classroom support, and school-wide events. If we get there, the CBPA PTO will even host a Fall Dance!
Here’s how to help:
- Sign up at MyBooster.com
- Share your student’s page
- Give a donation
We’ve already raised over $6,000! Every donation gets us closer!
Our goal is within reach and we are closer to unlocking our Great Wolf Lodge reward: WATERPARK DAY PASSES FOR ALL! Make sure you’re registered on mybooster.com to get your digital day pass. This weekend is the perfect opportunity for families to participate! You must to be registered to receive your day pass.
The CBPA PTO wants to thank everyone for a fabulous start to the school year! It was great to see so many families at our Eidem Farm Event and Culver’s Night this week! Your support means so much.
And what an amazing start we’ve had with our Fall Fundraiser! We still have a week before our Husky Fun Run, where we hope you’ll join us to cap off our largest fundraiser and cheer our amazing students on as the run!

From the health office
Here in the health office, we are here to help support students with a variety of health conditions and other needs. Working with elementary-aged students, we know that for a variety of reasons, we may need to help by supplying students with a change of clothes during the school day. We want to be sure we always have the ability to provide students with clean, properly-sized clothing when these accidents occur. In order to support this effort, we would like to ask your help with the following:
- Please send clothes back to the health office (washed) if your child borrowed any.
- Consider putting extra clothes in your child’s backpack if they are prone to accidents.
- The health office is open to donations of gently used boy pants (size S, M )
Thank you,
