Wildcat Weekly- 9/29-10/3

Message from Principal Martinez ๐พ
Dear Wildcat Families,
Now that we have the first six weeks of school behind us, our students have completed diagnostic assessments that give us valuable information to guide our instruction and support their learning. On Monday, we will have a non-student day to provide our teachers with dedicated time for professional growth.
Just as students are always learning, our teachers are too! Professional Growth Days allow teachers to collaborate, explore new strategies, and strengthen their practice. During this time, staff focus on improving instruction, reviewing student needs, and planning engaging lessons. While students are not in class, this investment helps ensure stronger teaching and better support for every child.
We hope you enjoy the three-day weekend, and I look forward to connecting with families next week at our ELAC, SSC, Friday Flag and Principal Chat gatherings!
Go Wildcats!

National Custodian Day
Thursday, October 2nd
On Thursday, October 2, we celebrate National Custodian Day and want to give a huge SHOUT OUT to our incredible custodial team!
-
Mr. Ryan, our lead/day custodian, works tirelessly to keep our campus running smoothly and always jumps in with a smile to help staff and students.
-
Mrs. Ellen, our night custodian, ensures our school is clean, safe, and ready for learning each morning.
We are so grateful for the pride, care, and hard work they put into Pomerado each day. If you see them around campus, please take a moment to say โthank you!โ
Volunteer Process Starting Next Week
Weโre excited to share that we are rolling out our new volunteer system at some point next week.
If you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis, we will be supplying you with a QR code and/or link to submit the application. You will need to upload your identification and a current copy of your negative TB test result to complete this application (if we have your TB test result in the office, please come pick up your copy). This QR code will be specifically for volunteers at Pomerado Elementary. You will be required to show a photo ID every time you check in as the new system scans for Megan's Law in real time, every time.
If you are not volunteering on a regular basis (example: book fair, carnival, or a non-regular schedule) you will continue to sign in as a visitor each time you are on campus.
Thank you for your patience and ongoing support as we work to build a more efficient volunteer experience. Our volunteers are a valued part of our school communities, and we look forward to welcoming you under the new system soon.
