Dear East Hills Family,

Students brought home their FAMILY CONNECTIONS CARDS last week. We are very proud of our students taking ownership for their grades, noting areas of strengths and growth, and following up with plans for the rest of the quarter. The quarter ends OCTOBER 27th!

The game on Wednesday at BASD stadium is going to be a great time, we always have a great time cheering on our football team and joining in the cheers. Make sure to read the expectations for the night below.

The band will perform at the stadium as well, but also at MANY parades! We are so incredibly proud of these students, managing their time wisely and making sure that grades are at the top of their priority list. East Hills has always proudly represented with impressive performances at the parades. Come out and watch a few!

Together. Connected. Strong.

Mr. Horvath, Mr. Podhyski and Mrs. Braun

FIELD OF FLAGS DAY

Hello families of EHMS! NJHS students are working with Ms. Thomas and Dr. McDonald to hold a fundraising event for Field of Flags. We are reaching out to ask for your help with two items!

First, we would like to feature any family members connected to our East Hills family on a Hometown Heroes Bulletin Board in the main entryway of the school. You can email pictures to tmcdonald@basdschools.org or send in copies of photos. They can be dropped off in the main office or room 158. They can be pictures of those currently serving in our Armed Forces or who formerly served (Parents, Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, etc). Please send your photos by October 30th, 2026.

Each photo needs to be labeled with

1. name;

2.armed service division(Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard); and

3. any other information you may want to include.

The second item we need help with is raising enough money to fill the front lawn of East Hills Middle School on November 11, 2006 with American Flags to show our support for our heroes. Each flag will represent one veteran and our commitment to serving all veterans after they have made sacrifices for our country. All donations are appreciated as they will support life changing services for veterans in need and their families. All donations will be accepted through Monday, November 2nd. The homeroom with the most donations will receive an ice cream social sponsored by NJHS.

DETAILS ABOUT WEDNESDAY'S FOOTBALL GAME!!

Dear Students,

We hope that you will join us for our night football game on Wednesday, 10/21/26. There are a

few rules and details you should know before coming to the game. It is important to remember that

we expect you to represent yourself and our school/district well before, during, and after the

game.

1) The football game will be held at the BASD Stadium at Liberty High School on

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 7:00pm. We will be playing Nitschmann Middle School.

2) East Hills Middle School will be sitting in the east bleachers (AWAY bleachers) on the

east side of the stadium (this is the school side NOT the press box side). Nitschmann will

be on the other side of the stadium (press box side). EH students should sit on the AWAY side

to cheer on our school.

3) There is no charge to enter the game. The game is free for all spectators to attend.

4) Students may sit in the EHMS student section (30 yard line – the section will be

marked) together. No items such as flour, baby powder, silly string, or loud noise makers

will be permitted. We do encourage you to wear school colors and/or pink. The East Hills Band, Band Front, cheerleaders, and our mascot will also be joining us for the game. Don’t forget to

dress warm!

5) Any students who do not follow the rules set forth by the teachers, administrators, or

staff will be asked to leave the stadium. Mr. Horvath, Mrs. Braun, Mr. Podhyski, Officer Corsi, and many other EHMS teachers and staff will be on site for the game.

6) There will be EHMS Faculty and Bethlehem Police on site to monitor student

behavior. We expect you to follow the BASD Framework for Citizenship and show respect for

both East Hills and Nitschmann athletes, families, students, and community members.

7) You will not be permitted to walk around the track from side to side. You should remain

on the EHMS side of the stadium and will not be permitted to circle around the stadium.

8) Concessions; lavatories will be open on both sides of the stadium for each section of

fans, so bring money if you would like to buy food. Remember these are school district

facilities and should be treated as such. Please refrain from behavior that would not be permitted

at our school when using the LHS facilities.

8) The BASD Stadium Bag Policy will be in full effect for all spectators. Each person is

permitted to carry one of the following: a clear plastic or vinyl bag no larger than 12 inches by 6

inches, a small wristlet or clutch, or a one-gallon resealable plastic storage bag. Backpacks,

large purses, and non-clear bags WILL NOT be permitted.

Diaper bags, strollers, walkers, or other medically-necessary items will be permitted following a

search. Clothing, blankets, cell phones, and cameras will be allowed if able to be carried loosely

or in an approved clear bag.

Ultimately, we want you to come to the game and enjoy yourself while cheering on our East Hills

Chargers. We look forward to helping you celebrate a fun night out with friends and family

members!

Thank you.

Be a part of our District Design Be a part of our District Design

The District Design Survey has been re-opened for the month of October and is now available in both English and Spanish.

District Design is a comprehensive look at how BASD is structured today and how we should plan for the future, including enrollment, class sizes, school locations, attendance boundaries, programs, educational needs, and the financial resources available to the District. BASD has not undertaken a major district redesign since the 1990s, making community input especially important as we look at where we are today and where we need to be in the future.

If a family or community member already completed the survey, there is no need to complete it again. We are encouraging those who have not yet participated to share their perspectives.

We want to make sure our families have an opportunity to participate and understand that their input will help inform the District Design process as potential options are developed and ultimately brought to the School Board for consideration.
