Principals Update

Yellow Jacket Community,

Teaching, learning, and the "Total Yellow Jacket Experience" continues every week at SAHS. We always have information to share and something to celebrate and highlight!

Our first SAC (School Advisory Council) Meeting of the year is tonight at 4:40pm in the SAHS Media Center. Our entire community is welcome to attend SAC where we give monthly updates and vote on projects to improve our school.
This week we will join schools across Florida in honoring "Heroes' Day" on September 11th. SAHS honors those that perished in the attacks on 9/11/01 as well as the sacrifices of the many emergency responders, military personnel, government employees, and civilians who were killed, wounded, or suffered sickness due to the terrorist attacks. "Celebrate Freedom Week" occurs throughout Florida starting on September 22nd.
It's hard to believe but this week already marks the mid-point of the 1st quarter. Interim grades will be available in HAC starting on Wednesday @ 4:00pm. Please review your student's grades in order to celebrate success as well as make plans for improvement where needed. As always, our entire staff is ready to answer any questions you have to help your student(s) reach their full potential!
We will induct our newest members into the "National Honor Society" tomorrow night at 6:00pm. This event will take place in our cafeteria due to renovations occurring in our auditorium.
We love celebrating our students that "S.W.A.R.M." and the "Jacket Hub" is one of our primary methods to support positive behavior and achievements. The "Hub" was open for the first time last Friday and students enjoyed spending the "Jacket Bucks" they had earned by following our "S.W.A.R.M. Traditions". We are always in need of volunteers and/or donations to our Jacket Hub. Please see information below in our Weekly Activities Update.
Huge shout-out to our SAHS athletics programs of a successful start to their seasons. Highlights include:

Volleyball competing and winning at a high level despite the lack of home gym as we continue to undergo gym renovations.
Swimming winning meets and earning personal bests.
Cross Country gelling as a team and building toward the postseason. Cole Swesey won 1st place at the Varsity Boys race over the weekend at the "Bronco Classic" at Middleburg High School!
Golf continues to score and place well at their early meets
Football is off to another great start with three big wins, highlighted by a "Game of the Week" win last Friday at Bolles.

The SJCCA performance season starts next week as SJCCA Theatre takes their version of "Charlotte's Web" on the road to local elementary and middle schools.
