BEAR MAIL
Friday April 3rd
Message from Principal Fippin
Hi everyone,
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who completed the parent survey. We WON!!! 87% of our families completed the survey, earning our school $10,000 and a school-wide popsicle party. Please know that we read every comment and take your feedback very seriously. We look forward to using your insights to help guide us next year.
Registration: If you know any new "Bears" who might like to join our BCE community next year, please let us know by coming into the office. The earlier we hear from you, the better we can prepare for all of our newest friends.
Congratulations to Ember Gaddamilroy and Aaryas Modak, who earned 3rd place at the 2026 Santa Cruz County STEAM Expo last Saturday as part of the Science, Mathematics, and Engineering group. We are so proud of you both for representing BCE!
Just a reminder that school resumes on Tuesday, April 14th. We look forward to seeing everyone then.
Have a great Spring Break! :)

BCE Bears Celebrate at the Bear Paw Store!
Way to go, BCE Bears for following the BCE Way and making great choices. Today students shopped for rewards with Bear Paws that they earned for being responsible, respectful, safe, and kind. BIG thanks to our parent volunteers for running the store! We could not do this without your support!
PBIS - Creative Minds at Work!
PBIS - Responsibility in Action!
This month, students are focusing on responsibility by being prepared, making good choices, and taking ownership of their learning. Families can help practice responsibility at home by encouraging children to clean up after themselves, complete homework, help with chores, take care of pets, and get ready for school each day. Mrs. Anderson will also be reading Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse and Finding Winnie with classes and discussing responsibility. We are proud of the way students are showing responsibility at school and at home.

We are the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teachers and Instructional Aides form Boulder Creek Elementary School, and we are so excited to welcome new learners!! If you have a child who will turn 4 before September 1st, they are eligible for TK and we are happy to enroll them!!
Tk is a wonderful bridge between preschool and kindergarten. Our classrooms focus on social emotional growth, early literacy and math skills, and lots of hands-on, play-based learning in a a positive and nurturing environment. Best of all it's part of the public school system- so it's free!
If you're still deciding between preschool and TK or have any questions about TK, please email us or call the BCE Office at 831-338-6413. We love helping families make the best decision for their little ones.
Look forward to a great year of learning and growing together!!

Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
