MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of February 3, 2025
Winter Window Has Closed
Next Steps
- Review data so you know what percentile students are currently.
- Send Home Literacy Reports as outlined below to all K-3 students. All other students should be given a copy of the iReady Diagnostic Report.
- If you did not meet in January as a school data team, you must meet in February to discuss student data and progress. Remember your school data team minutes should reflect discussion of students and notes should be made on CSRS.
- ILP-Ds should be renewed (if eligible) or exited (if eligible). If a student is now eligible for this plan based on Characteristics of Dyslexia Decision Making Crosswalk, the school data team should create a record of decision and send home to parents for signature. It is best practice that when sending home the information that you accompany it with the ILP-D Family Information sheet and the date noted. If no response is received, please send it home again and pick up the phone to let the parent know. If the parent does not sign, the student can still receive the necessary supports through the Tier 2 or 3 plan.
- Double check your On Target for Success SharePoint school folder to ensure that you have uploaded all related Winter Window information.
iReady MOY Data Digs
For MTSS Leads
MTSS Leads will meet virtually to hear about where we are as a District and learn out to drill down to the school level. MTSS Leads will be able to support educators at their school with understanding the data and using it to make targeted instructional decisions.
Because MTSS Leads are meeting on these dates, there will not be a MTSS Lead DLD session so MTSS Leads can push into the afternoon planning sessions at your schools.

Home Literacy Reports
Schools will provide Home Literacy Reports, following administration of the universal reading screener, to K-3 students scoring below the 15th percentile and are recommended for 16th-40th percentile.
These reports provide reading proficiency guidance, reading activities to use at home, and information on specific reading interventions and supports being provided as outlined in TCA 49-1-905(d). Please be sure that the iReady Diagnostic Reports are sent home to parents along with this letter to inform parents of their student's scores. Keeping parents informed of their child's progress is extremely important when students are struggling.
Vendor Ticket Updates
PCG TNPulse
The B05 Advanced Report appears to be operating as it should. If this report continues to hold this week, look for the data quality alert in PowerBi to be removed. If you notice discrepancies on the B05 report that you pull directly from TNPulse, please notify me via email with a screenshot and description so that I can notify the vendor.
Pearson aimswebPlus
Our ticket remains open with Pearson aimswebPlus as we must not have any issues for 30 days to mark it resolved. We are on day five. I will continue to update if there are any changes.
Best Practices
Document, Document, Document
If you are not already maintaining notes/dates of when key actions on your part to communicate with parents of Tier 2 or Tier 3 progress, please start. This along with the plan information in TNPulse, and the data team minutes are extremely important to me when inquiries are made.
Update the Tier 2 or 3 Plan in TNPulse
Don't forget to update the Tier 2 or 3 Plan in TNPulse when changes are made in instructional level or skill deficit area. Information must match between TNPulse, and aimsweb in order to see it reflect accurately in PowerBi. Remember it all starts with a plan!
January LDW Takeaway
During the January LDW, Dr. Myracle and TNTP shared information on The Opportunity Makers. This research extends a previous publication you may be more familiar with called The Opportunity Myth. If you are not familiar with either, Google them and download the report (you have to provide an email address to get the link). Both are great reads and can make you stop and think about your own practice.
What stood out most to me was about high expectations for ALL student subgroups. Student movement in learning starts with our expectations. Continue to set high expectations and encourage students to continue to push for those.
