Rising 9th grade Course Registration Information
January 26th: Middle School students tour PHS, PECIL, and PCSVA
Students will learn more about course options at PHS:
- World languages
- Family and Consumer Science
- Agriculture
- ROTC
- Arts
- Health Sciences
- Automotive Services
- Core Construction
- Advanced Placement (AP)
- Core Courses (Math, Science, English, Social Studies)
Students will also tour PECIL and PCSVA to learn more about the programming, expectations, and application process for high school students interested in attending the Early College or the Virtual Academy.
Rising 9th Grade Registration Night Information!
Feb. 7th & 8th (4-8pm): Rising 9th Grade Registration Night at PHS
- Students and parents are welcome either day and are asked to sign up for a 20-minute time slot in advance here: http://bit.ly/48Z1S2P
- Students and parents will meet one-on-one with PHS, NMS, and SMS administration and student support staff to select their preferences for their Freshman year classes.
- Students interested in pursuing an Associate's degree from PCC should attend an information session at 6:30pmeach night in the cafeteria.
- Representatives from PECIL and PCSVA will be on site to answer questions and to assist students with the application process.

NMS Family and Student Handbook
At Open House, we reviewed some parts of our Student Handbook. By clicking on the image to the right you can access a digital copy. A paper copy will be going home with all students this week. Please take time to review this with your child to ensure you are both aware of expectations for NMS Raiders.
Dress Code Reminders
Students must NOT wear:
Clothing which promotes, exposes, or advertises activities not permitted by law to minors (e.g. guns, drugs, cigarettes, or alcohol).
Clothing which depicts profanity, vulgarity, obscenity, or violence.
Clothing prohibited under 4328 (Gang and Gang Related Activity) or any other provision of Board Policy.
Clothes which are overly tight or loose and therefore too revealing or obscene.
Clothing which threatens the health or safety of staff or students.
Clothing which is reasonably likely to create a substantial disruption of the educational process or operations of the school.
Pajamas (this include pajama bottoms), nightgowns, or other sleepwear.
Hats or hoods in the school building.
Steel toe boots.

My name is Stephanie Neal. I have been teaching for about eight years, and enjoy seeing my students grow and achieve wonderful things. I look forward to working with the students here at Northern.

Greetings, I'm Pablo Quintero, an architect with a master's in business administration from Colombia. Having navigated roles in various multinational companies, my greatest joy lies in my beautiful family—my wife and 10-year-old daughter. Together, we indulge our love for travel, and I find fulfillment in educating and inspiring young individuals with foundational business concepts.

My name is Ms. Sutton and I teach 7th grade ELA. I am very excited to be in my second year of teaching at Northern Middle School. I am excited to get to know all of you and your wonderful kids. Let's read! Fun fact: I have a feline son named Shadow!
Mrs. Castro
My name is Patricia Castro and I am the new Spanish teacher at NMS. I know we are going to have a terrific school year full of challenges and meaningful learning experiences. I have been a teacher for over 19 years. I hold a bachelor’s in Modern Languages and a master’s degree in TESOL from Greensboro College, NC. I have previously worked as a teacher, professor and academic coordinator at different schools and colleges; I have also worked for Chatham County Schools, NC.
I am originally from Bogotá, Colombia. My family and I are very excited to be living in a different country again and learning from a different culture.
