The material and resources that are on the Aldine at-home learning site are for enrichment purposes for this week and next week. This website is considered the first stop for everyone! You, the teacher, the students, parents, principals, program directors, there is a section for everyone. We wanted to create a location that would be central so that we're not all grabbing and going to a dozen different locations.

Your program directors will soon be placing materials in the at-home learning Schoology group for you to use with your students. There is no need to create courses at this time as all your students are rostered via eSchool already. Please continue to check the site for updates and we will notify you when the material has been added in Schoology.

Schoology Training

This week will start our virtual training sessions to get you up and running! This will be scaffolded to assure mastery of one skill at a time. The first focus will develop proficiency in how to copy resources from the at-home learning group to your courses and how to add assignments in Schoology. Be on the look-out for the invite from your campus DLS for these sessions.

*Remember*

If a student can’t see your class in Schoology (or is attached to the wrong school in Schoology) please send us the student’s name and ID# so the account issue can be resolved.

Copyright and Data Privacy

We are thrilled to see all the resources and activities being shared and utilized. However, please be mindful that while we are suspending normal activities, copyright laws and regulations are not. An author may give permission to have their book read aloud but their publisher might not. If you chose to do a read-aloud with your students do so within a private platform such as Schoology or Flipgrid.

Many tools are offering their platforms for free at this time, as always you should shy away from platforms that ask for you or your students' information. We strongly encourage you to stick with the digital resources that have been vetted and approved by our district. If they haven't been vetted we can't guarantee they aren't selling your information to third parties.

In addition, COPPA/CIPPA laws are not suspended during this time. Students under the age of 13 are still limited in the means they can be contacted.

If you have any questions about the tool your campus is trying to utilize please don't hesitate to reach out to your DLS.
