Weekly Update 10/10

Dear Oak Brook Families,

As we move into the middle of October, we start to get really busy at Oak Brook. Please add these dates to your calendar because they will be here before we know it.

Friday, October 17 - 1/2 day - school dismisses at 11:35
Monday, October 20 - No School (fall break)
Saturday, October 25 - Trunk or Treat
Tuesday, November 4 - No School (Parkway Professional Development Day)
Wednesday, November 12 - 1/2 day - school dismisses at 11:35

Beginning next week, crews will be working on the side and back of Oak Brook as they begin replacing sidewalks, our back stairs and adding sidewalks to exits in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. If you pick up or drop off your child, please be aware of any equipment that may be present. We have asked that they not use the drive during arrival and dismissal times.

The week of November 10-14 will be our Parent/Teacher Conference Week and the library will host the Scholastic Book Fair. Sign ups for conferences will be sent home soon.

The PTO is partnering with Fit Body Boot Camp to raise money for Oak Brook through their 28

Day Training Program. So what are the benefits of participating? You get to jump start your

metabolism before the holidays, getting primed for a healthier YOU, while helping US raise

money for Oak Brook Elementary!

Fit Body Boot Camp is donating 100% of all proceeds back to Oak Brook, all while helping

our community be healthier!

Fit Body Boot Camp is an indoor training facility that helps hundreds of local

community members transform their lives every day, including other Oak Brook

parents and family members. They are located just up the street, at 691 Big Bend Road

(intersection at Big Bend and Sulphur Spring Rd).

Included in the program you will receive:

● New Client Welcome Assessment

● Unlimited Access to Boot Camp Sessions

● Body Composition Analysis Scan & Individual Review

● Nutritional Assistance for healthy living

● Private 1-on-1 Goals Strategy Session (30 mins)

● Unlimited support, accountability, motivation, and access to our private coaching page

● 100% of the funds go to support Oak Brook!

This week we will focus on integrity. We define integrity as doing the right thing even when no one is looking. This core value is one of extreme importance. How we behave when no one is looking is a true marker of our character. Take time this week to talk with your child about the importance of always doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

Registration Form

Please see the information below about an opportunity for students in 4th-8th grades. At this time, students in grades 4–8 and their families are eligible to participate in the trip. Additionally, due to high interest, we are now accepting applications from current 9th and 10th-grade students for a limited number of Student Leadership roles.

We’re excited to host a Greece Parent Information Meeting on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 PM in the Library at Central High School.

The meeting will cover important details including the itinerary, costs, deadlines, and ways families can get involved.
