Dear Evergreen Families,

What a month January was! Our second graders had a blast on their field trip, we came together for our spirit assembly, student action teams are up and running, and Kindness Week was absolutely wonderful. There was so much happening that it's hard to list it all!

February is shaping up to be just as busy. We've got Valentine's Day Grams coming up, the Father-Daughter Dance, our Poetry Festival, and a schoolwide field trip to DBHS, plus more.

Thank you for your continued support of the Evergreen Community Club. Your involvement, encouragement, and generosity truly help create memorable experiences for our students, and we are grateful to partner with such an amazing school community.

We're excited to share a few upcoming events and reminders below!

Valentine's Day Grams

Valentine's Day Grams are a fun and meaningful way to spread kindness across our campus. Students and families can send sweet messages to friends, classmates, teachers, or parents.

How It Works:

• Choose a Valentine's Gram
• Write a special message
• We'll deliver it straight to the classroom

Sales Dates: February 6–12

For Students: Grams may be purchased on campus. Students write their own messages.

For Parents: Valentine's Grams may be purchased after school—a perfect way to surprise your child!

Prices: $2–$6 (price varies by item)

Delivery Day: Friday, February 13 (the day before Valentine's Day!)

Evergreen Talent Show

Does your student love to sing, dance, act, play an instrument, tell jokes, or show off a special skill? The Evergreen Talent Show is the perfect opportunity for them to shine!

Who Can Participate? All Evergreen Elementary students are welcome. Solo acts or small groups are encouraged!

Important Dates:

• Auditions: February 19 at 1:00 PM in the MPR
• Rehearsal: March 5 at 1:00 PM in the MPR
• Talent Show Performance: March 13 at 9:30 AM in the MPR

How to Sign Up: Please scan the QR code on the flyer.
Sign-up Deadline: February 13

Important Reminders:

• Students must attend both auditions and rehearsal
• All acts must be school-appropriate
• Performance time limit is 2 minutes
• Music must be submitted in advance—no exceptions

ECC Meeting – February 13

We invite all parents and guardians to attend our next Evergreen Community Club meeting on February 13 at 8:30 AM on campus. This is a great opportunity to stay informed, ask questions, share ideas, and learn more about upcoming events while connecting with other members of our school community.

Kindness Week: Our Leaders Shine Bright! 🌟

Our school community soared to new heights during Kindness Week as students and staff embraced the power of compassion and care! From "Kindness is Golden" on Day 1 to "Fill Your Plate with Kindness" food-themed fun on Day 2, our leaders filled the halls with positivity. Day 3 brought adorable Sanrio friends reminding us that kindness is sweet, while Day 4 showcased our student superheroes proving that kindness is the greatest superpower of all. We wrapped up the week warm and cozy on Day 5, celebrating how kindness comforts and connects us. Throughout the week, students demonstrated exceptional Self-Discipline, Ownership, Attitude, and Respect—our S.O.A.R. values in action. The creative costumes, heartfelt acts of service, and genuine care shown by our students proved that when we lead with kindness, everyone wins. We're incredibly proud of how our Leader in Me community came together to make our school a brighter, kinder place!

Our monthly spirit assembly was filled with celebration, recognition, and plenty of Evergreen pride! We honored many of our outstanding student leaders for their incredible accomplishments throughout the past month.

Highlights included:

• Recognition of our January S.O.A.R. Award recipients who exemplify what it means to be Safe, On-Task, Accountable, and Respectful
• Sharing our new schoolwide Wildly Important Goal (W.I.G.)

The energy reached new heights during our Stomp Rocket Competition! Several students and staff competed to see who could make the rocket go higher. It was such a fun time cheering and celebrating our students and staff as they launched their rockets skyward!

It was a wonderful event that truly showcased the Evergreen Spirit. Thank you to all our students, staff, and families for making our school community so special!

Evergreen 2nd grade leaders went on an exciting field trip to the Pomona Fairplex Farm, where they explored nature through hands-on learning. They planted onions and took home their own plants and vegetables. The students also learned about farm animals and helpful insects, like bees, and discovered why they are so important. It was a fun and meaningful experience that helped them better understand where food comes from.
