Week of January 7

January 7: Start of Cycle 3

We will send out the sign-up lunch schedule when we return for the break. Parent lunches will start back up on the 15th.

PTA Updates

- Join us for a family game night and PTA Meeting Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. We'll have a short PTA meeting, and then your student can share their favorite games with friends, whether it's Monopoly, Connect 4 or even Waffle Topple (Jenga with plastic waffles).

- There's still time to join the PTA! Only Keeley PTA Members may vote at meetings, so make your voice heard and join the PTA today.

- Share your time and talents with Keeley, and volunteer. We offer opportunities to fit almost every schedule through our WatchD.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students), MOD Squad (Moms On Duty) volunteer groups. Last semester alone, our volunteers decorated Christmas trees for the holiday program, helped with classes, made crafts at home, did lunch duty, and helped wherever there was a need. Learn how you can volunteer at KeeleyPTA.org.

- Mark your calendar for our annual family dance on Friday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. We'll share more details soon!

📢Sign up for Parent Lunches through Spring Break! 🍽️

Please check the schedule carefully, as some dates or grade levels may be missing due to campus testing or field trips. We look forward to seeing you and appreciate your support! Since all STAAR testing dates are not yet finalized, we will send out the sign-up for April and May at a later time.

Safety in GISD

For the safety and security of all students and staff, Garland ISD uses the "I Love U Guys" Standard Response Protocol and Standard Reunification Method as the foundation of all responses to weather events, fires, accidents, intruders and other threats to personal safety.

GISD wants all students, parents and staff to understand these responses, expectations and actions.

Parking and other Reminders

  • Please do not block the parking spaces outside the front office from 2:00-3:00 as parents may need to come into the office or clinic during this time.
  • We've noticed that some parents are still parking in the staff parking lot, which is where our buses come in and out. We've had a close call between a parent and a daycare vehicle. For everyone’s safety, if you need to park at arrival and dismissal, please make sure to park off campus.

Outside Deliveries

To ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, we kindly remind you that outside food deliveries, including fast food, are not permitted during school hours. If your child forgets their lunch and cannot eat in the cafeteria, you are welcome to bring a sack lunch for them before 10:00 a.m. in order for it to be received in time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Birthdays

Parents may bring food of their choice to school to celebrate their child’s birthday. GISD has determined that this food must be prepackaged, individually portioned, store-bought items with the ingredients clearly labeled. These birthday treats must be distributed after all lunch periods have ended and at the end of the day prior to dismissal. Parents will not be able to attend but can drop off the items in the front office.
