Living the PYL Promise at Brookhaven 🐻

At Brookhaven, we continue to bring the PYL Promise—Rooted in Connection, Ready for Tomorrow, and Stronger Together—to life through the learning experiences, partnerships, and shared commitments that make our school community special. Here are a few highlights from this past week!

🤝Stronger Together

Our school community came together for our Fall Festival, celebrating with fun, laughter, and school spirit! Students also enjoyed shopping at the Bear Hug Store, earning PBIS rewards for being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Together, we continue building a positive and welcoming school community.

🌱Rooted in Connection

Through Red Ribbon Week activities, students strengthened their commitment to making healthy, safe choices. Our anti-bullying assembly reinforced the importance of kindness, inclusion, and standing up for one another. We continue fostering connections where every Bear feels valued, supported, and welcome.

These experiences reflect our ongoing commitment to helping every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we are creating a school community where every Bear belongs and has the opportunity to thrive!

Rooted in Connection. Ready for Tomorrow. Stronger Together. ❤️🐻

November: Caring

Students understand that caring — including the virtues of compassion, kindness, benevolence, altruism, charity, generosity, and sharing — is the heart of ethics and they strive to demonstrate a concern for the well-being of others by displaying compassion for those in pain or need by providing support in the form of donations and/or personal service.

Key Beliefs

I will be a better student if I act on the following beliefs. I can

  • show care and concern for others.
  • be kind and considerate even when others are not.
  • help find a way to help others.
  • show concern for others’ well–being.
  • act compassionately and with empathy.
  • be willing to show forgiveness.

🐻 Valet Reminders for Our Bear Families

To help keep our arrival and dismissal safe and running smoothly, please remember a few important valet procedures:

  • Know your number! If your child is not waiting at your assigned number, you will need to go around again. Staff will not leave their assigned posts to look for students while cars are waiting.

  • Morning drop-off: Please pull all the way forward before dropping off your student to keep traffic moving.

  • Staff parking lot: Please do not park or drop off/pick up your student in the front STAFF parking lot.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and for helping us keep our Bears safe!

Handbook Highlight: Parent and School Partnership

At Brookhaven Elementary, we believe Stronger Together! Parent involvement and community support play an important role in helping every Bear thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. From volunteering and PTA activities to school events and family engagement opportunities, there are so many ways to get involved. Explore the graphic below to discover how you can be part of our Brookhaven Bear community in 2026–27! You can review the handbook using this LINK.
