Kennedy Families,
It's hard to believe it but we are cruising towards the end of the of the school year! After today, we only have 25 days of school left. The 2025/2026 school year has gone by very quickly!
Construction is humming along on the new safe and secure entrance and office area of Kennedy. Thank you all for your patience during this project. Pick up and drop off has been pretty smooth even with all of the construction and the movement of our front door to door #3.
This week the 3rd through 5th graders kick off MCAs. The MCAs are the state assessments to see how well our students are mastering the grade level standards. Kennedy has been honored for the past two years for our academic achievement on the MCAs, particularly in the area of closing the achievement gap. Last year, 77% of Cubs were proficient in math on the MCAs and 62% of Cubs were proficient in reading. Our Kennedy data exceeded both the school district and the state, something we should all be proud of!
It has been an exciting year and we can't wait to see what the next month brings for all of our Cubs!

- 2026 Kennedy Panorama Family Survey:You may complete the survey online between April 1, 2026 and April 30. Use the Kennedy Code 2980369989
- 2026 Kennedy Title 1 Family Survey: Our school is a schoolwide Title I school serving all students. Schools receiving federal funding for Title I, Part A are required to gather feedback about Title I programming. Please complete this short survey by Friday, April 24th 2026.
Each spring, Minnesota students take statewide assessments to provide a snapshot of their academic progress. These assessments help our school and the state ensure that all students are meeting Minnesota’s academic standards. The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) are state-required assessments that help us measure student progress in Reading, Mathematics, and Science (Grades 5 and 8).
The Reading, Math, and Science assessments are scheduled for the following dates:
Reading MCA: Grades 3, 4, 5, April 14-17
Math MCA: Grades 3, 4, 5, April 21-24
Science MCA: Grade 5, April 28-29
Please encourage students to get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast the morning of the test.
