CMHS Class of 2030 - Move-Up Day
The incoming CMHS Freshman Class of 2030 recently experienced an orientation move-up day experience. Student enjoyed lunch in the HS Auditeria followed by a tour of the buildng through station stops. The CMHS Leadership Team and NHS members hope to increase participation in our extracurricular activities and school organizations by hosting an informational session during the 8th grade Move Up Day. Members of the different organizations and teams met with incoming freshmen to display the activities that are available in our high school. We also created a Club and Activity Coursebook that was emailed to all students in the high school and will be placed on the website for parents to view.

CMHS Students Partner with Magnified Giving
This year, National Honor Society (NHS) students participated in the Magnified Giving program. Founded by Roger Grein, Magnified Giving teaches students the value and impact of philanthropy. Mr. Grein’s philosophy is that everyone has something to give—whether it is their time, talent, or treasure.
As part of the program, Magnified Giving provided our NHS chapter with a $1,000 grant to donate to a nonprofit organization of our choice. This year, the organization also contributed an additional $500. To further expand our impact, NHS members donated $250, allowing us to support a second nonprofit with a $750 grant.
Students were divided into three subcommittees, each of which researched and visited different nonprofit organizations. After learning about the missions and services of these organizations, NHS members voted to select the nonprofits that would receive this year’s grants.
The first nonprofit selected to receive a $750 grant was PAWS Humane Society. PAWS is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals by finding loving, permanent homes for unwanted pets through adoption. The organization also works to improve the lives of animals through education, advocacy, and community resources.
The second nonprofit selected to receive a $1,000 grant was The Jonah Habedank Memorial Foundation. Established in Jonah’s memory, the foundation strives to spread hope and support to young adults struggling with mental illness. By sharing Jonah’s story, the organization encourages individuals to recognize that they are not alone and that their lives matter. The foundation’s mission includes raising awareness about mental health, providing access to critical resources, and supporting organizations that advocate for the mental well-being of young adults.
Through this experience, NHS students gained valuable insight into the importance of philanthropy and the positive impact that charitable organizations have within our community.
Falcon Forward Day - May 4, 2026
26/27 CCP Application & Placement Testing Reminder
Any student who is planning to take CCP at CMHS (with our teachers in the building) must have their Sinclair application and placement testing completed by June 1. After that date, students may still participate in CCP, but they will have to take classes at a campus or online. Typically it takes 1-2 weeks for Sinclair to process applications, so apply ASAP. If you have any questions, see Ms. Beres or Ms. Sercu.
