Families are encouraged to bring a sack lunch along with a water bottle and/or drinks.

After the activity time, we will gather under the shelter for a time to eat our sack lunches together.

Be sure you bring water bottles too!

STEP 1 - SIGN EVERYONE UP FROM THE OHVA EVENT CALENDAR - LINKS BELOW

• NOTE: Everyone must have a HomeTown ticket to attend the picnic

STEP 2 - CHECK IN

• Staff will be ready to check in your digital HomeTown Tickets when you arrive at the picnic
• Once your student's ticket is checked in at the picnic, they will receive credit for this Face to Face event

Come and enjoy fun activities at OHVA 2026 Back to School Picnic:

• Make a WHIRLIGIG (the world's oldest fidget toy dating back to 500-400 BC). You will make it and learn how to operate it!
• Compete in WIN IT CHALLENGES (based on Minute to Win It challenges).
• Memorize and practice saying TACO, CAT, GOAT, CHEESE, PIZZA! Get ready to play this crazy fun card game as a team. Never played it? See the video below for a quick tutorial.
• Join your new picnic friends for some fun FIELD GAMES.

While students do the Activity Stations, parents / Learning Coaches will gather together in the shelter!

Connect with other K-2, 3-5, MS (Middle School) and HS (hgih School) Learning Coaches. Talk about OHVA together in small groups, Learn about school resources like our app, Learning Coach Community, Learning Coach Academy, and our Booster Parents!

Goals for the Parent Circle:

• How to make connections
• Talk "shop" with other parents who have experience with OHVA.
• How to stay informed
• How to celebrate
• Time for Questions and Answers

OHVA Picnics will wrap up with everyone gathering in the shelter to eat their sack lunches.

Be sure to bring your sack lunches and drinks/water bottles.

OHVA Staff will then close the picnic and wish everyone a great year of academic celebration!
