It's been a great week to be a Colt!
⭐ STUDENTS OF THE WEEK ⭐
Way to go, James, Locksley, and Autumn!
James Reed (6th Grade)
“On a good amount of occasions now, James has helped out his fellow classmates by letting them borrow supplies when he overheard they needed something when asking the teacher. Thank you James for stepping in and being a great helper! It is very appreciated!” - Ms. Anania
Locksley Baskin (7th Grade)
“Locksley is a kind person. She went out of her way to make a new student feel welcomed. She always has a smile and works hard.” - Ms. Barringer
Autumn Andersen-Burbridge (8th Grade)
“Autumn is always willing to help out around the school! She welcomed three new 8th students to our school. She invited each student to sit with her at lunch. Autumn helped one of the students find her classes throughout the day. She was friendly and welcoming to each new student ensuring they had a great experience at their new school.” - Mrs. Rotante
🏅 Debate Tournament 🏅
Congratulations to our JV Debate Champions—Lucy Otten, Ava Siloterio, and Kora Wilcox!
I am proud of all our participants and amazed how much they've learned in a very short time. Watching them taking constructive feedback and getting better with each round was amazing! I was very excited to have our alumni, Tristan Mathews and Alex Bausch, joining us for the debate tournament as judges!
We are also grateful to our high school mentors and state champions, Wayne Barnum and Lena Haney for volunteering their time and sharing their knowledge and expertise!
Thank you to all families for coming to cheer on and support us with drinks and snacks!
Gratefully,
Your Debate Coach,
Mrs. Anna
🎃 Halloween & Picture Retake Day! 📸
Halloween Expectations 🎃
As we get closer to Halloween, here are a few guidelines for next Friday:
- You may wear costumes during the day on Friday. Inflatable costumes are not allowed.- Normal dress code rules still apply to all clothing, including length. If it is not appropriate, you will need to change it or be sent home. Clothing must cover your body appropriately. Nothing can portray sex, drugs, alcohol, violence, or gore.
- Masks and full-face paint are not allowed. Your face must be easily identifiable.
- Hats are okay if part of your costume.
- Leave all props such as plastic guns, knives, etc. at home (these can result in suspension).
- Don’t bring any items that you must carry, such as teddy bears.
- Nothing can be disruptive to the classroom. Teachers may ask you to remove or not bring into their classroom hats, sunglasses, or other items that might cause a problem in their classroom or lab. Staff members will confiscate disruptive or inappropriately used items.
- Hair coloring is okay; however, all hair paint/color/make-up must be applied at home. No getting ready at school. As always, do NOT bring anything that sprays to school – leave it all at home.
