Volunteers Needed for December 16th and 17th

AAK Families! We need your help next week.

On Monday, December 16th, the Red Cross has asked for volunteers to check people in to the Blood Drive and watch the cookie table from noon to 5:00pm.

We also need help on Tuesday, December 17th from 12:45-3:00pm for our Holidays Around the World school wide event. Students will start traveling the world (moving through stations) at 1:00pm. There are 6 stations, each 20 minutes. Each station will have an activity or craft that needs a volunteer to run it. They are easy, I promise! The classroom teacher will move with their class and help as well. You will need to arrive at 12:45 so I can show you your craft and get you set up.

Unfortunately, we can't have younger siblings with volunteers for these events.

Thank you so much for your help, we can't do it without you!

Giving Day is December 16th!

AAK Giving Day is Monday, December 16th.

We have several opportunities for students to learn about giving:

We have paired with Toys for Tots and Salvation Army to collect NEW, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program, new or gently used clothing and non perishable food items for Salvation Army for the next few weeks. Grade levels are competing to see which can collect the most items. The winning grade will get a visit from Santa in January to celebrate. Our PreK and 5th grade classes have teamed up since there is only one of each of those classes. On Giving Day, students will sort and count everything collected and get it ready for pick up.

We are also hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive from noon - 5pm on Giving Day. Please see the attachments below to sign up for a time to donate! Please let your friends know as well, there are many spots to fill to help out that program. You can sign up here: https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive
