Dear Silverhawk Families,

It’s hard to believe that our first month of school is already under our belt! Our Silverhawks have been busy building strong habits and getting ready for a successful year.

Beginning-of-the-year testing is complete, classroom routines and procedures have been established, and now we are hitting the ground running with academic learning! Students across all grade levels have been setting academic goals and working toward their i-Ready and typing goals. We are excited to see their growth throughout the year!

September Events:

• September 7 – Labor Day: NO SCHOOL
• September 16 – Peter Piper Pizza Family Night
• September 21 – Fall Break Day: NO SCHOOL
• September 24 – Dress Out of Uniform for $1
• September 25 – Deer Valley High School Homecoming Parade: 9:30 AM

With our Arizona temperatures still VERY hot, students have been enjoying lunch recess inside the gym. While the gym gives them a cool and safe place to play, they definitely miss being outside!

Here’s hoping September brings us some cooler weather so our Silverhawks can get back outside and enjoy the playground.

Hello Bellair Families,

Preschool is off to another great start this year. So far we have focused on building our classroom community with rules and routines, learning about each other, and making new friends. We are having fun working on our fine and gross motor skills through play. Our learning centers give students time to create, imagine, build, and practice self regulation with a full hour of free choice play time daily. Teachers enhance learning by introducing concepts to students, one on one interactions, and small group activities. Just look at all the fun we have!

The Gifted Spark classroom is off to an electrifying start this year, transforming eager young learners into active, critical-thinking detectives. By blending high-interest problem-based learning (PBL) with foundational Primary Elementary Thinking Skills (PETS), the classroom has become a vibrant hub of curiosity, logic, and deep analysis.

Our new PBIS Acronym is S.O.A.R. Silverhawks show Safety, Ownership, Achievement and Respect. Please help us to instill these behaviors at home, so we can all "S.O.A.R. to #Extraordinary Heights Together!"
