Friday Updates

Dear SHS Families,

I want to wish all of our students a restful and rejuvenating 3 day weekend. There was a small wave of sickness that seemed to go through the school, and I hope the extra day helps us all shake out any remaining bugs and be ready to learn on Monday.

I also want to thank our parents that attended PTO on Tuesday evening and engaged with the school about our current security initiatives, and what some possible next steps for student safety can be. Know that safety is a continual process of improvement that is discussed with staff and students as we work to best prepare the school for any emergency situation. Be on the lookout for information to come.

Believe it or not, next Friday, October 17th, will mark the end of the 1st Quarter. Teachers and students will be working on finalizing 1st quarter work and grades next week. I feel it so fitting, as well, that we will be ending our quarter next Friday with Benediction at 10:00am. We invite you all to spend some time in prayer and adoration with the students in the church during this time. Benediction typically lasts about 30 minutes.

If you have not already, please sign up for a Fall conference with your student’s teacher. Come prepared to discuss their progress so far and work on strategies for them to be most successful moving forward for the rest of the year.
