From Doan's Desk...
Welcome back everyone! It has been a unique start for everyone in 2026. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility in figuring out the delay of 1st semester exams. Spending the first two days in January doing final exams definitely gave things a very different feel. We know that the fear was that students would be negatively impacted by this delay. Most teachers are reporting that they have not seen a significant difference between sections that took the exams in December versus January.
As of Thursday this week, we moved forward with the transition to 2nd semester classes. It has been a much quicker than normal turnaround to get immediately going on the new semester. We will already have another day off from school on Monday, January 19th, in observance of the Martin Luther King Holiday.
Happy New Year & Sko Yotes!

BVSD NEWS
Weather Delays and Closures
Wondering what to expect in case of a weather closure in all or part of BVSD?
Under all but the most extreme conditions, school officials have a responsibility to keep school in session. During Colorado winters, snow and ice are to be expected. As always, BVSD respects a parent's decision to keep students home from school or delay their arrival due to weather conditions. Contact the school's attendance office and the absence will be excused.
* No notices means no closures or significant delays have been reported.
