Do unto others

The phrase "Do unto others" is the cornerstone of the Golden Rule. It is a simple yet powerful reminder: Treat everyone with the same kindness, respect, and consideration you wish to receive yourself. This principle encourages empathy and reciprocal action, serving as the universal blueprint for fostering a strong, positive, and supportive community.

    Message from Mr. Tejkl

    Unto Others...

    Good morning!

I hope your Sunday is off to a great start and your weekend has been a good one! Congratulations to our Unified Bowling team/coaches and One-Act cast, crew, and coaches for an amazing season! You represented SRC to the fullest and showed up every meet. Very proud of you all and thank you for all the time and effort you put into your craft!

The wisdom within "Do unto others"—the Golden Rule—is never more important than now as we enter the season of giving. This quote asks us to treat everyone with the same kindness, respect, and generosity we wish to receive ourselves.

Think for a moment about a time when you were struggling, and someone simply reached out or offered a hand or even a quick conversation. That feeling of being seen and supported is exactly what we strive to give back to each other and throughout our communities.

The true power of this rule is the call to action and awareness. It is the reminder that when we notice someone struggling or see something "out of place," we must lend a helping hand. This commitment is critical as many of us navigate personal challenges—this is when our empathy matters most.

While December inspires us to be generous, our goal is to make this proactive support a daily and year-round commitment. By choosing to see and act, we ensure that every member of our school family feels continuously valued, supported, and never alone. This is what Shelby-Rising City Public Schools is all about. I witness it every day from students, to our staff, and to our patrons.

Look around, reach out, and let your kindness be the light that strengthens our entire community.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Quote of the week to reflect on:

"We live by the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

    Jane O'Meara Sanders

    Sincerely,

    Tucker Tejkl
