Congrats to Brian Shelley, Kansas Coaches Association 2025 Tennis Coach of the Year
Coach Brian Shelley was named 2025 Tennis Coach of the Year by the Kansas Coaches Association. Coach Shelley helped pilot the Girls and Boys Tennis programs at Piper. The tennis program is in just its third year and is already showing signs of success. Last fall the girls team had its first win in a match at state by Senior Avary Vallejo. In the boys season this past spring four boys qualified for state including doubles partners Baird Greenemeyer and Johnny Vogel placing 7th place. Coach, we are proud of the accomplishments of your team and your commitment and dedication to Piper Tennis. Pictured with him is Piper High School Athletic Director Brian Gray.
Piper High School Math AP Scores Soar Above State and Global Averages
At Piper High School, we are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students on this year’s Advanced Placement math exams. Under the leadership of teachers Mr. Shane Stout and Dr. Prakavar Mondal, our students not only rose to the challenge of rigorous coursework, but they also outperformed both the state and global averages in every single math exam offered.
On the AP Statistics exam, while the global pass rate was 60.3%, an impressive 84.2% of Piper students earned a passing score.
In AP Calculus A/B, Piper’s pass rate came in at 75%, far ahead of the global average of 64%.
And in our very first year offering the AP Pre-Calculus exam, Piper students achieved a remarkable milestone: a perfect 100% pass rate, compared to the global average of 81%. Every single student who took the exam at Piper passed with a qualifying score of 3 or higher!
These results are a testament to the hard work and perseverance of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the strength of our academic programs. We are incredibly proud of these accomplishments, and they reflect the high standards and commitment to excellence at Piper High School.
