Message from the Principal Message from the Principal

Last week, some of you sent me the funniest messages. Some told their children things like they might get to enjoy another day off from school if they read a book or complete some extra chores. Hey, if it worked... :)

To be honest, like most of you, I wanted more snow and less ice. I envisioned students making snow angels and building snowmen. Instead, I think most had to huddle inside to avoid freezing to death or breaking a leg on the sheets of ice that covered almost everything.

As we look ahead to this week, it does appear that things appear to be thawing out. Given the cold temps today, like all of you, I'll be on the lookout for guidance from the district later this evening. As I shared last week, my job is to be prepared for whatever call the district makes. I know it's challenging given the size of the district and varying road conditions across such a large area. Whatever call is made, I can honestly say that I miss the students and look forward to seeing them soon.

In closing, some have inquired about our open STEM Aide and Computer Aide position. Mrs. Hill and I will begin setting up interviews this week since we were not able to do so last week. If you know someone who is interested, it's not too late. In the meantime, until we can hire for these positions, consider reaching out to your child's teacher. They may have an extra block of time this week for a guest reader or someone willing to share what they do for a career.

As always, we want thank to families that continue to help us keep our bus exit area clear by accessing the car-rider line via Oak Grove Road. In the mornings, our buses use the exit area on the map below from 7:05 to 7:30. In the afternoons, the buses usually exit between 2:35 and 2:40.
