Dear Centennial Parents, Guardians, Community Members, Faculty, and Staff,
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires school districts to develop a Comprehensive Plan on a three-year cycle. Centennial’s 2026–2029 Comprehensive Plan is due for renewal by March 2026 and includes district priorities, goals, instructional strategies, and required state assurances, along with companion plans such as Gifted Education (Chapter 16), Induction (Chapter 49), and Professional Development (Act 48).
In Spring 2025, Centennial convened a Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee made up of faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents, community members, and partners. The committee and its subgroups worked collaboratively throughout Spring, Summer, and Fall 2025 to develop the draft Comprehensive Plan and required state reports for submission by March 31, 2026.
As part of PDE’s required 28-day public review period, this Thoughtexchange includes the following draft materials for feedback:
A one-page overview of the Comprehensive Plan
The full draft Comprehensive Plan
Draft Induction Plan (Chapter 49)
Draft Professional Development Plan (Act 48)
Draft Gifted Education Plan Assurances (Chapter 16)
We invite you to review these materials and share your feedback through this ThoughtExchange to support informed decision-making and community input.

Log College Middle School Competes in the Keystone STEM Competition
On January 15, 2026, five students from Log College Middle School participated in the Keystone STEM Competition at the FabLab. Upon arrival, the team was presented with a challenge and tasked with developing a creative solution to present to a panel of judges. Their prompt was: “Brainstorm a design change, big or small, that could improve Pennsylvania schools.”
The Log College team chose to focus on the growing mental health crisis among students. They brainstormed ways to support students’ social and emotional well-being and developed an innovative idea: a portable wellness pod that could be easily moved throughout a school building. The pod would include “reset stations” designed to help reduce stress and anxiety, such as yoga or meditation areas, virtual reality “trips” to calming locations like a beach or park, physical activity options like a walking pad or punching bag, and listening stations featuring uplifting sounds and positive affirmations.
Students constructed a model of their wellness pod using Legos and a Sphero robot and delivered a three-minute pitch to a panel of judges to showcase their idea. Their creativity, teamwork, and commitment to improving student well-being truly shined throughout the competition.
McDonald Elementary Students Create Goodie Bags for St. Mary's Patients
At McDonald Elementary, students had the heartwarming chance to create goodie bags for cancer patients at St. Mary’s Hospital. This meaningful community service project was initiated by Kindergarten teacher Sabrina Escaleira, who drew inspiration from her own mother’s courageous battle with cancer.
Students collaborated to assemble bags filled with comforting and joyful items. This project not only fostered empathy and kindness among the students but also reinforced the significance of supporting those in need. The students assembled 200 bags for the patients!

Centennial School District Partnership with Bus Patrol
In February 2026, Centennial School District, Warminster, Upper Southampton, and Ivyland Police Departments will launch a partnership with Bus Patrol, a school bus safety program in line with PA Motor Vehicle Code § 3345.1.
A fleet of 65 district buses has been modernized with advanced safety technology, including photo enforcement cameras to detect vehicles that illegally pass stopped school buses. This initiative aims to reduce dangerous driving behavior and enhance student safety. According to the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS), school buses are estimated to unlawfully pass more than 45.2 million times each school year in the United States.
“At Centennial School District, student safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our partnership with BusPatrol helps protect children as they get on and off the bus and reinforces the importance of safe driving in our community,” said Jim Wertman, Director of Operations.
WT Students Participate in PMEA District Choir Festival
160 of the best high school singers in Bucks and Montgomery counties gathered at Hatboro Horsham High School from January 8-10 for the PMEA District 11 Choir Festival. Five students from William Tennent had the opportunity to rehearse with Dr. Felicia Barber from Yale University as they prepared a challenging and diverse repertoire of choral music.

Classlink Migration - Complete!
As of 12/26/2025, we have completed a successful Classlink migration. As we return to teaching and learning in this new year, all students and families will see a new login portal for Classlink:
Student Login Credentials
Please select “Sign in with Microsoft” whether you are on a Chromebook or an iPad.
When students are prompted to enter a username and password to log into Classlink (on Chromebooks or iPads), they will need to utilize their entire email address, including the domain, as a username. This is a change from previous logins, where students could just use the first half of their email for their username.
Example: For a student named John Smith graduating in 2038:
Username: 38smitjo@stucsd.org
Students will continue to use their passwords and images as part of their log-in process. This will be a daily process for Chromebooks and a one-time process for iPads.
Student Troubleshooting
Sometimes, devices remember a previous login email that may not be connected to your account. If you are receiving an error message when trying to log into Classlink, consider troubleshooting by clicking the green "Microsoft Login" button on the top of your screen:
Family Login Credentials
Families will need to claim their accounts (if they have not done so already.) A stepper has been created to help with this. If you need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to submit an IncidentIQ ticket.
Brief AI Update
Hello CSD families!
The district has made the decision to discontinue Google Lens as an AI solution on student devices effective 1/5/2026. Students in Grades 6-12 will continue to have access to Google Gemini, which provides the same AI solutions as Google Lens but within an environment that can be better monitored and supported by our teachers and the Office of Technology. Students in Grades K-12 will continue to have access to Magic Student (when enabled by their teachers.) We continue to thoughtfully provide opportunities for our students to engage with emerging learning technologies in supported learning environments.
The Dangers of Energy Drinks
Teens are sleepy, so it's no surprise that the flashy, bright Alani and Celsius drinks would grab their attention. Many students use energy drinks as a quick fix to their sleepy morning struggle. However, that may not be fixing any problem our teens face and could create more issues like irritability, dehydration, and heart palpitations. Getting a good night's rest, limiting screen time, and having a healthy, balanced meal and hydration can help.
Students are encouraged to bring only water to school. Water is the best choice to stay hydrated and focused throughout the day. Please avoid sending juice, sports drinks, or energy drinks, as these can interfere with attention and overall wellness. Thank you for supporting healthy habits at school!
Spring Sports Begin March 2nd
ALL Physicals MUST BE DATED AFTER MAY 1, 2025.
Liberty Urgent Care will continue to provide athletic physicals for the District at a cost of $55 per student. All students should indicate that they are from the Centennial School District when scheduling or arriving for their appointment.
