Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Families,

We hope you all stay warm over the weekend and have some good family time. The wintery forecast may find us snowed in a little which could affect school on Monday. This link explains how the decision is made as to delays and school closure.

Students should have brought home information about this year's Read-a-thon this week. I have included the information in this week's update in case it didn't make it home. We appreciate everyone's efforts in helping students reach their goals, and supporting our school so that we can have great experiences for our students such as Jim Basketball Jones and the SkyDome Planetarium coming in March. Thank you!

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students that participated in Art Around the World with Lily Grace learned and created Oaxacan Alebrijes which are vibrant folk art scuptures of mythecal creatures.

As students in grades 3-5 prepare for Ohio State Tests that will take place in April, it is always helpful for parents to understand the expectations for their child. This site offers families a practice test and information to better familiarize themselves with the tests.

Please remember that students will go outside on days where the temperature with wind chill accounted for is 20°f and above. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Coats, hats, and gloves are necessary at this time of the year. Boots are required for playing in the snow. If you need assistance with winter outerwear for your child, please contact our school, and we will happily find warm clothes for them.
