Principal Message
Dear Parents & Guardians,
It has been a wonderful first week back to school! Students are eagerly learning to navigate the building and locate their classes. I’ve enjoyed watching them stop to check their schedules and ask staff for help along the way. Our 6th graders are bravely tackling lockers for the first time and I think I’ve even improved at opening combos myself with all the extra practice!
Drop Off & Pick Up
Morning traffic has been running smoothly, and we’ve had almost zero late arrivals—thank you for helping us start the year off strong. A quick note for our 5th grade families: as you’ve noticed, students now rotate through multiple teachers each day. Unlike GBS, they don’t always begin with their homeroom teacher, so it’s extra important to arrive on time. This gives them a chance to unpack, settle in, and start the day ready for success. Traffic patterns in the back of the building are looking great too. As a reminder, the left lane must remain open until 7:15 AM to allow staff to access the back parking lots. If the lane is blocked, cars will be asked to circle back around. Please also be sure to stop at the crosswalk and keep it clear for students at all times.
Items Dropped Off
If your child forgets an item at home, you may drop it off in the main foyer. Please place a sticky note on the item with your child’s name and teacher’s name. Items will be placed on the pick-up table outside the office, where students know to check. To limit classroom disruptions, we only call in if it’s absolutely necessary or if something of significant value is forgotten.
Chromebooks
If a student forgets their Chromebook, we’ll have them call home to see if it can be dropped off. Students may borrow a loaner one time, provided one is available. Loaners are limited and prioritized for students whose Chromebooks are being repaired.
Thank you again for helping us kick off such a positive start to the year. We couldn’t do it without your support. Have a wonderful long weekend.

SKI CLUB
Hello WCS Families,
We are pleased to announce that Ski Club will take place again this year! We will be going to Pat’s Peak on Thursday nights in January for five fun-filled nights of skiing and snowboarding (January 8, 15, 22, 29 & Feb. 5). Students of all levels are welcome to sign up, as there are lessons at the mountain.
This year, sign-ups will be emailed out on October 25th at 9:00 AM to allow for early bird pricing and for all families to have an option to sign up. (To receive early pricing, registration must be paid in FULL on or before 11/15/25.) Sign-ups will be first-come, first-served, and can be very competitive. When you go to sign up, you will need the names and numbers of TWO emergency contacts ready to be entered. If your child does not make the cut-off for the club, please email jlemay@windhamsd.org AND scronin@windhamsd.org, as email time stamps will also create the waitlist.
If you are new to Ski Club, here is some overview information:
- Please be advised that participation in this club entails additional expenses, including bus transportation fees and a Pats Peak ski pass. Families may select from a variety of pass types, depending on their preferences and budget.
- All students must pay for their spot on the bus and get their pass from Pat’s Peak.
- Videos of how to purchase tickets and detailed information can be found on the Ski Club Page for students who join the Ski Club.
- Ski Club Swag can be purchased this year!
- This year, you can pay for the Ski Club bus digitally or by check payable to Windham Center School.
- Pat’s Peak passes must be purchased directly through Pat’s Peak. Please see the video and/or PDF directions for 2025/2026 ski club members on the Ski Club page (only available for those who get into the club).
- Students leave WCS at 1:50 and will be responsible for gathering information and work from their missed classes.
- Students will have lessons (if purchased) from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and free skiing from 4:00 PM to 6:45 PM.
- Students who miss their check-in time (5:00 PM) cannot come the following week.
- Rental gear is available for anyone who needs it and can be purchased with their pass.
- Miss Lemay and Mrs. Cronin will email chaperones to alert them if they can be chaperones for their chosen night. You will then get a pass from Miss Lemay to ski/snowboard for the night.
-Mandatory Parent Meeting: If your child is accepted into the club, at least one parent/guardian must attend a required meeting on December 3rd at 5:30 PM. This meeting will cover all expectations, procedures, and important information for the club.
As always, if you have any questions, please email us at jlemay@windhamsd.org and scronin@windhamsd.org.
Thank you,
Jordan Lemay and Suzanne Cronin

Pick Up Patrol
Windham Center School uses Pick Up Patrol to manage absences, as well as any dismissal plan or end of day changes. Welcome emails will be sent out prior to the start of school for all accounts that have been established. Parents and guardians will enter students default dismissal plan for the year. For absences, late arrivals, club activities or dismissal changes, please use the system to notify WCS rather than calling the WCS main office. Notifications of daily dismissal changes will be sent to homeroom teachers daily to assure students are aware of their daily plans. Please visit http://www.pickuppatrol.net for additional information. Bus passes will be permitted this year.
Raptor
Windham School District utilizes the Raptor system for signing students, staff and visitors in/out of our school buildings.
- If your student is Arriving Late, the student must be walked to the door by an adult who can ring the bell to notify us they are dropping off a student.
- If you have entered your student's late arrival in PickUp Patrol, we will let you know that you can send your student into the building and be on your way. The student will sign themselves in on the Raptor system in the main office.
- If you have not entered your student's late arrival in PickUp Patrol, you will be asked to accompany your student into the foyer where you will sign your student in on the blue clipboard Your student will proceed into the main office to sign in on the Raptor system.
- If you are dismissing your student, please ring the bell and let the office staff know you are picking up and provide your student's first and last name.
- ID is required to dismiss a student.
- Once inside the main office, the parent/guardian will sign the student out using the Raptor system by entering the student's information and choosing "Sign Out".
Attendance Line
If your child is going to be absent or late to school, please put this information in Pick Up Patrol. If for some reason you are unable to do so, please call the absence line at 603-845-1554, Option 1. If we have no received proper notification, your child will receive an unexcused absence and you will receive an auto call.
WSD-COMMUNICATION WITH PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES-POLICY JICJ
Beginning in the 2025 school year, New Hampshire has enacted a statewide “bell-to-bell” ban on student personal electronic device use from the first instructional bell to dismissal, except in very limited cases.
Although this is a new statewide policy, the Windham School District already had a cell phone, smart watch, tablet, or personal laptop policy in place for students in grades K–8. For our students, this will not be a change. All personal electronic devices are expected to remain off and stored in their lockers and or bags.
We ask parents and guardians to please remind your child of this expectation so we can continue supporting a focused, distraction-free learning environment.
New Volunteer Fingerprint Scan at SAU
The Windham SAU office is pleased to offer interested new volunteers the opportunity to schedule fingerprinting appointments at 19 Haverhill Road on Tuesday, August 26th, and Wednesday, the 27th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. With the last appointment being at 1:30, if you would like to book an appointment, please click here. Please note, this process can take up to several weeks for the results to be returned. Additionally, if the SAU submits fingerprints and the results are rejected, you may need to use LiveScan, an efficient background check method outlined on our website and available at local DMVs. For complete background check information, visit our website.
Band and Orchestra Waterfall Schedule
School Council
We are looking for parents to join us for our School Council Meeting this year. We meet monthly after school from 2:30-3:30. This year we will meet in person only at WCS. During our meetings we will share and discuss updates at WCS as well as hear and address your questions. You are a representative of the community. The goal is to build a stronger home school connection and keep the lines of communication open. Please email bmartin@windhamsd.org with your interest.
PTA
The PTA is a Parent/Teacher Association, which has been formed for the purpose of increasing and improving communication between home and school. The PTA meets once per month, runs book fairs during parent/teacher conferences, and runs many other important school events. Each fall, the PTA has its annual membership drive for new members and the election of officers. It is hoped that the parents of all of our students will become members and support our school projects.
Visit our PTA website at: http://www.windhampta.org/ for the most current PTA officers and Information.
