5th Grade Expo Night

We are excited to begin planning for the 2026-27 school year and to guide you and your student through the course selection process. Please review all the essential details about course selection to ensure a smooth experience. Middle School Course Selection opens on February 2nd in Skyward and closes on February 19th. This is not first come, first served so take your time!

Come to Expo Night 2/3 from 5:00-6:30 @ Jones Middle School

This night is an opportunity to walk the campus, see 6th grade classrooms, ask questions about electives, and see performances from our fine arts students.

Review the Course Guide and Worksheet
The first step is to sit down with your student and review the 2026-2027 Middle School Course Guide and the 6th Grade Course Worksheet. The course guide provides descriptions of all available courses and contains a wealth of information to answer most of your questions.

Course Selection Requirement
We ask that every student completes the course selection process, regardless of plans to stay in the district, transfer to another Prosper ISD middle school, or move out of the district. If your student is relocating within Prosper ISD, their course selections will transfer to their new school. For families moving out of the district or choosing alternate educational options, completing the course selection process still helps us assess staffing needs for our growing district.

Need Help?
If you have questions, please start by consulting the course guide. If you still need assistance after reviewing the guide, come to expo night, watch the video below. We’ve also created a centralized form for all course selection inquiries. This form is accessible to all three counselors and Ms. Travers, our counseling assistant, to ensure your questions are addressed promptly.
Click here to access the inquiry form.

Below is a video your child will be going through at their elementary school. It provides helpful information about required classes, elective options, fine arts and PE requirements, as well as detailed instructions for entering courses into Skyward.

BEST PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TEXAS

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.

ABOUT PROSPER ISD

Prosper ISD is a school district located north of Dallas in Collin and Denton Counties. The district spans approximately 58 square miles and serves more than 32,000 students in 20 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 4 high schools, and one early childhood school.

🫶 THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING OUR TEACHERS & STUDENTS

In November 2023, an overwhelming majority of voters approved $2.7 billion to continue building excellence in Prosper ISD. Thank you for your continued financial commitment to our district.

And while our facilities are second to none, we know that it is the people who make the difference in Prosper ISD. From our bus drivers to our teachers to our teacher assistants, our staff is here to support students as they pursue their dreams of excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics.
