O'Dell Families,
I hope you had a wonderful short week! I am providing both newsletters and I apologize for not getting information out this week.
4th Graders are asked to purchase a recorder for music class. The recorder will be used throughout the school year and is part of the 4th grade music curriculum. Orders are open until October 2nd. Please contact Mr. Stamper if you have any questions.
I'm looking for 2-3 parent volunteers that would be willing to be trained to scan classroom library books for the teachers. This would be during the school day and volunteers would rotate from room to room. Training will be provided by our Elementary Librarian on a Monday. Please email me ASAP if you are interested in helping out lisaphelps@celinaisd.com.
O'Dell would love to host a Trunk or Treat for all of our students on our Book Character Dress Up Day, Friday, October 30th from 1:30-2:15 p.m. PK-1st Grade (FRONT DRIVE) & 2nd Grade - 4th Grade (BACK DRIVE)! Volunteers will be placed in the Front and Back Drives depending on your preference and number of volunteers. Cones will block the entrances during our Trunk or Treat and O'Dell staff will monitor students as they visit each car.
- We ask that volunteers choose a fun theme and decorate your trunk/car.
- Dress up in a costume that matches your theme—or just wear your favorite Halloween t-shirt - nothing scary!
- Bring candy, small prizes, coupons, stickers, trinkets, game, or other fun goodies to hand out to our students-no homemade treats. Please Sign up HERE by Monday, 10/26.
The last Friday in September is in recognition of the historic, cultural, and social contributions American Indian communities and leaders have made to Texas. This observation is mandated by the Texas Education Code and our CISD School Board Policy.
Don't forget to order your homecoming mums below. I will share the Homecoming Dress Up Days once they are received. We are super excited about our upcoming events as we move into October!

4th Grade Recorder Purchase
All 4th Grade students are asked to purchase a recorder to use in music class wth Mr. Stamper. The recorder is used throughout the school year and part of the 4th grade music curriculum. The cost is $10.20. The purchase deadline is October 2nd. Please contact Mr, Stamper if you have any questions.

Child Nutrition - Free and Reduced Lunch Application, Lunch Accounts
A new Free and Reduced form must be filled out and submitted for approval each new school year. Please complete your free and reduced applications in School Cafe here: https://www.schoolcafe.com/CELINAISD.
Applications will start being processed and approved on July 22, 2026. The grace period will end September 27, 2026. Students will revert to paid status if a new free and reduced application is not submitted and approved by the grace period. Parents will be responsible for unpaid meal charges.
New Student Lunch Account: Please have your child bring their lunch or lunch money with them to school on the 1st day, or set up an account prior to the first day of school. Parents can monitor your students' accounts and place restrictions on their meal accounts in the school cafe https://www.schoolcafe.com/CELINAISD.
As a reminder students with a lunch balance from last year will roll over to this year! Please add funds to your child's account before the first day of school.

Celebrate your child’s birthday or half-birthday in lights! For $20.00, your child’s name will be displayed on the O’Dell Elementary marquee for their special day! If your child has a summer birthday, it can be celebrated on their half-birthday (six months prior to the real birthday). Access the link HERE
