A Note to Our Families as We Close the Year
As the school year comes to an end, I want to take a moment to thank every one of you for being part of our community this year.
Graduation was truly a day to remember. The weather held out beautifully, giving us a perfect backdrop to celebrate our graduating seniors as they walked across the stage. Watching them mark this milestone—and seeing the pride on the faces of their families—was a reminder of just how much this class has grown and accomplished. Their senior trip to Disneyland was the perfect send-off, full of laughter and memories they'll carry with them for years to come.
To the Class of 2026: we could not be prouder of you. Wherever your path leads next, you take our very best wishes with you. You will always be part of this family.
To all of our families: thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your support throughout the year. I hope you have a safe, restful, and joyful summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall, ready for another great year together.
Warmly,
Shannon Leatherwood

2026-2027 School Year Start and Stop Times
Thank you to every family who took time to complete our transportation survey. Your feedback matters and it directly shaped our thinking as we worked through this decision.
We heard you — and we know this change is not easy for everyone. The survey showed general support for adjusting schedules, though we also heard real concerns, and we take those seriously.
The reason for the change comes down to island geography and the limits of our current bus fleet. With the distance between our schools, we simply cannot serve both buildings with the buses we have if they dismiss at the same time. Staggered times give our drivers the window they need to complete drop-off at the secondary schools and travel down island for elementary pickup.
Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, the new school schedules will be as follows:
Our goal for the future
The survey did show a preference — though not an overwhelming one — for moving toward a single unified schedule for all schools.
We will continue actively planning for our future and if this remains the goal, we will plan to add additional buses that would make combined routes possible and allow all buildings to operate on the same schedule. This will take time and investment, and we will keep families informed as well as seek feedback as we work towards the needs of our families.
We know schedule changes affect families in real ways — childcare, work schedules, routines. Please reach out if you have questions or concerns. We are committed to open communication and want to hear from you as we navigate this together.
