Greetings, Warrior Families!

We have completed the first "week" back and are beginning to settle into our routines. It was great to see everyone rested and prepared to begin the spring semester with a renewed energy!

The beginning of the spring semester is also a great opportunity to discuss how we all must continue to grow as students, and as a community, while we begin our transition to the spring semester and the next school year. As a part of this time we will be having class meetings over the next couple of weeks to reinforce expectations and discuss upcoming events that students need to be aware of. I look forward to speaking with all of our students and am truly excited about the future!

A Look Ahead

Each week, two students from each grade level will be recognized as our Warriors of the Week! Students are nominated by teachers and staff in recognition for their contribution to the school, their peers, and through their exemplification of Service, Leadership, and Community values. Happy 2024 and welcome back Warriors!

We will be talking about the importance of setting realistic and attainable goals upon entering the new year. Often New Year’s resolutions begin with promise but are often too broad or general to measure our success, thus leaving us feeling unsuccessful.

When considering how this relates to school attendance, we must identify the obstacles hindering attendance and find ways make changes in daily routines and habits so that we can find consistency.

These will be talking points all month along with motivational quotes to get us geared up for a great 2024!

· If staying up late and/or being tired is hindering your student getting to school on time or at all, help them build a sleep routine that has a set bedtime as well as a set wake up time. Studies show that consistently going to bed and waking up at the same time even on the weekends, helps build the bodies sleep-wake cycle.

Consistency is key Warriors! Small changes in habits do matter and will make a difference!

Counselors will have their first Tranquil Tuesday of the semester this coming Tuesday in the Counseling Suite. Please have your student reach out to their counselor if they would like to attend this upcoming or any future Tranquil Tuesday. Students will be making Zentangles at this upcoming event.

Food Pantry

A School Pantry Program is currently available at PHS for students that need weekly food assistance. If you would like more information regarding the program, please contact your student's counselor.

NOTE:

You do NOT need to put a size for the cap. It comes as a “Sure-Fit – XL” with elastic in the back and fits MOST students. However, when graduation cap & gowns are delivered, students can try on their cap and the representative can exchange it for a 2XL size if needed at that time.

Yearbook Recognition Ads are the perfect way to commemorate achievements and celebrate milestones. In addition, revenues from Recognition Ads help our school create a better yearbook. To purchase your ad online, follow the instructions listed on the attached page. Jostens is responsible for our school's yearbook ad sales. Please not not contact or send materials to the school.
