Good evening, Trojan Families!

This is a message from your proud principal, Mrs. Kinard, and the school leaders at Ferndale Middle School. We strongly encourage you to access the digital version of this announcement, available on our school website and social media. It contains additional important information that you and your students need to know.

We are officially four weeks away from the EOGs, and every moment counts! Now is the perfect time to make sure our students are building strong habits that will help them finish the year strong. Please encourage your child to:

  • Review notes and practice skills each evening.

  • Get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast daily.

  • Stay positive and believe in their ability to succeed.

  • Reach out to teachers if they need help or have questions.

We are excited to share that our EOG Prep Academy has begun! Students are participating in extra support sessions designed to strengthen their skills and boost their confidence. Thank you for encouraging your child to stay focused, attend regularly, and give their best effort.

Next week, we also have some important celebrations:

  • Teacher Appreciation Week will be celebrated Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9.

  • School Nurse Day is Wednesday, May 7.

We are so grateful for the amazing teachers and nurse who take such great care of our students each day.

Here are a few simple ways you and your child can show appreciation:

  • Send a handwritten thank-you note or email.

  • Create a small card or piece of artwork.

  • Share a kind word or compliment.

  • Bring in a small treat or flower.

Let’s come together as a Ferndale community to lift up and recognize the incredible staff who make a difference every day!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are paving the way for a strong finish to an amazing school year!

GCS Immigration Response GCS Immigration Response

Every family should know that every child in Guilford County has the Constitutional right to attend school regardless of immigration status. The Guilford County Schools does not request or record information about a student’s immigration status. Federal and state laws protect student information from disclosure to others, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). GCS does not permit non-students, including ICE agents, access to GCS facilities unless they can produce a warrant signed by a federal judge. School administrators will not permit the disclosure of confidential student information without first consulting their attorney to make sure that the information has been properly subject to a federal judge’s warrant.

Families should consult community resources to learn their rights and additional information will be provided to help families access these resources.
