Millage Extension Information
Sheridan School District voters will decide in a special election on November 18 whether to extend the district’s current 36.0 millage rate for nine more years to fund several key facility projects—without increasing the tax rate. (The state mandates all districts have at least 25 mills; Sheridan has 11 additional mills set to expire in 2047 that would now be extended to 2056 if the proposal passes.) The district’s millage rate will remain at 36 mills regardless of the outcome of the election.
The extension would allow the district to use $11.5 million in state partnership funds to help build a new East End Elementary School, complete with a safe room shared with East End Middle School. Other proposed projects include a multi-use covered practice pavilion in Sheridan, safety and security upgrades across campuses (such as new cameras and signage), and districtwide renovations to bathrooms, flooring, and lighting.

Veteran's Day
🎉 Celebrations 🎉
East End Middle School students went to the Arkansas River Education Service Cooperative chess competition in Pine Bluff this Tuesday and Wednesday. The competition was tough this year! At yesterday's tournament Liam McWilliams, Emerson Seaton, Hunter Sheeks, and Morgan Gay tied for 4th place, and at today's tournament Spencer McAllister, Liam Patchak, and Blake Martin tied for 4th place! Every student who went won at least 2 games. Everyone did a great job!
VEX Robotics had their first competition on Saturday at Bethel Middle School. All teams did a great job. Congratulations to Emmett Goodwin, Ian Ray and Hayden Lawson for double-qualifying for State!

Nurse's Corner
Hope everyone had a spooky but safe Halloween. We’re heading into cold and flu season, please keep your child at home if they are experiencing fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. Let’s also remind them to wash their hands and not to share drinks or food.
The Reminders:
Hearing and Vision referral letters will start going out soon.
The second round of Delinquent Immunization Letters will also be going out. Please make sure your child is up to date on immunizations or that their exemption is up to date. Exemptions need to be renewed every new school year. If you’re not sure about your child’s status, please don’t hesitate to contact the school nurse.
Parents/guardians this first time dropping off your student’s meds with the nurse will take some time: forms and consents need to be signed and meds need to be counted.
If your child has a health condition, please inform the school nurse. We want to keep all our students safe and make sure they are receiving proper care while at school.
If your child needs a check-up, immunizations, or is feeling ill our Jacket Health and Wellness Clinic is convenient and quick. For more information click the link Jacket Health or call (870) 484-4411 to set up an appointment.
Please keep your child at home if they have a fever, vomiting, or have diarrhea. Students must be 24 hrs without fever or symptoms in order to return to school. Please also let attendance or the school nurse know.
The Sheridan School District is a peanut/tree nut free district. Please do not send or allow your child to bring food items into the school that contain peanuts, peanut products, or tree nuts. This information will be found on the label under ingredients. Due to continual changes in manufacturer packaging and processing, please read the ingredient label to ensure that it does not contain any of the following: peanuts/ nuts, peanut/nut butter, peanut/nut oil, peanut/nut flour, peanut/nut meal, or any of the statements “may contain traces of peanut/nuts.” (M&M’s, Butterfinger).
Parents, be on the lookout for head lice and remind students not to share combs/brushes or clothing items.
Thank you and please contact me with any questions or concerns.
