On A Positive Note:

State School Superintendent Richard Wood visited Polk School District this week, and Van Wert was recognized as one of the elite Georgia Math Leaders for 2023-24. This recognition is for achievement or growth in the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient Learner level or above in mathematics. The 2023-2024 Math Leader Awards criteria recognize the crucial importance of numeracy skills in fifth grade.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you and your family in good health. As we welcome our students back to school following the learn-from-home day, I want to express my gratitude for your support and understanding during this adjustment to learning. Your cooperation has been invaluable in keeping our community safe.

As we move forward, we have MAP makeup tests this week. We encourage you to support your child in continuing to prepare for these assessments by ensuring they get plenty of rest, eat well, and approach the tests with a positive mindset.

Please remind your children about the importance of good hygiene practices as we continue to prioritize their health and well-being. We are here to support them in every way possible.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education.

Warm regards,

Will Zwingmann, Ed.S.
