Dear Roadrunner Families,
We are often so busy, we forget to slow down and connect with people. While it just takes a moment to show someone you care, it often feels like we don't have the time, but it's always worth it. A creative and caring instructional assistant jumped and hopped and twirled across the playground to help a reluctant student feel confident in returning to class. I heard words of encouragement and support from a second grader who was helping her classmate to persevere through solving a challenging math problem. During lunch, I watched as a group of thoughtful children chose to sit at a table where a new student was sitting alone. This week, the students and staff reminded me of the importance of human connection, and the power it has in shaping a positive culture where students and adults can grow and thrive. This reminder to connect was just what I needed, and I’m sharing my story with you in case you need it too. I am truly grateful for the Palmquist community!

Estimadas familias de Roadrunner:
A menudo estamos tan ocupados que nos olvidamos de reducir la velocidad y conectarnos con las personas. Si bien solo se necesita un momento para demostrarle a alguien que nos importa, a menudo parece que no tenemos tiempo, pero siempre vale la pena. Una asistente de instrucción creativa y solidaria saltó, dio saltos y dio vueltas por el patio de juegos para ayudar a un estudiante reacio a sentirse seguro de regresar a clase. Escuché palabras de aliento y apoyo de una estudiante de segundo grado que estaba ayudando a su compañero de clase a perseverar en la resolución de un problema de matemáticas desafiante. Durante el almuerzo, observé cómo un grupo de niños reflexivos elegía sentarse en una mesa donde un nuevo estudiante estaba sentado solo. Esta semana, los estudiantes y el personal me recordaron la importancia de la conexión humana y el poder que tiene para dar forma a una cultura positiva donde los estudiantes y los adultos pueden crecer y prosperar. Este recordatorio para conectarme fue justo lo que necesitaba, y estoy compartiendo mi historia con ustedes en caso de que también lo necesiten. ¡Estoy realmente agradecida por la comunidad de Palmquist!
