2022 Illinois State convention

Written By Landen Tirevold, Chapter Sentinel

State Convention is a very fun experience. During state convention you get to listen to the state officers give many speeches including their retiring addresses. You also get to see or even participate in voting for the new state officers. Another fun thing there is the Ag Expo, there are a ton of schools and organizations there. You can talk to them and they will tell you all about what they do and you get a ton of free stuff.

Not only do you listen to the state officers talk, there are also tons of talents, such as singing or playing instruments. Another thing that happens is that you get to listen to the band and choir perform many songs. Other than the convention, in between sessions you can walk around Springfield to get something to eat and experience the city. Although the heat is unbearable in the multiple layers of clothing, it is still a very fun event I recommend going to.
