The Wolfpack Edge

GREETINGS
It dawned on me this week that tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Time is flying. As I write this, I find myself humming Alan Jackson’s “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)”...a powerful reminder of a day and a moment so many of us will never forget.
Tomorrow night at our Wolfpack football game, we look forward to honoring our first responders and our country in a special way. We invite you to join us and proudly wear your red, white, and blue—or your Wolfpack gear! Tailgate "Burger Feed" starts at 5:30pm. Go Pack!

Head Administrator
A few years ago, the Homecoming planning committee decided to try a new idea for one of our Homecoming chapels; we called it Chapel on the Couch, and it has been a vital part of our chapels ever since. Rather than inviting one speaker, we ask a few people to take a seat on the couch and share insights on various topics; students shared that they appreciated this style because it felt genuine and natural, more like they were part of a conversation than being “talked to.” Thursday’s chapel was Chapel on the Couch, and our topic was “How does our faith grow?” Our three guests shared insights on prayer, reading the Bible, and living a consistent lifestyle. Our guests did not claim to be perfect at any of these but rather had experienced growth in their own spiritual lives using these important tools. We never want students to feel that if they “just prayed a little more” or “read a bunch of verses every day,” their lives would become smooth and stress-free, or they would experience automatic growth. Still, we want to urge one another in habits and practices that draw us closer to Christ. Our Faithpacks met after our worship in the EC, and students were given time and opportunity to reflect on the couch conversations. This offers a great opportunity for a conversation at home, whether you watched our chapel or ask your son/daughter about what was discussed.

What Helps Students Love Their Christian School?
What helps students truly love their school? Is it the high-quality teaching, the depth of the friendships, the beauty of the campus, or the way faith and learning intersect? Every Christian school leader has pondered these questions, often relying on instinct, observation, or anecdotal feedback. But what if students themselves—across many schools—could tell us, with data to back it up, what actually matters most?
Non-Discrimination Policy
Western Christian High School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs (if any exist), and athletic or other school administered programs.
