Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1| WEEK 0| 30TH JAN 2026
Dear Jesus,
We ask for your blessing on our school community.
Encircle us with your love and care.
Let our love for others guide our thoughts and actions.
Help Holy Rosary to be a place of sound learning and new discoveries.
Grant that those who belong, those who teach and those who learn will, like St Dominic, find you to be a
source of truth to be shared with all those we meet.
We ask through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen
Dear Parents, Friends and Guardians,
Welcome back to a new year at Holy Rosary School. We hope you and your families enjoyed a restful and relaxing break, and that the time together brought energy and renewal for the year ahead.
Over the holidays, our staff engaged in professional learning with Springfox alongside four other Catholic schools, focusing on developing a performance mindset grounded in wellbeing. Just as our Catholic faith calls us to learn it, live it and teach it, our educators are committed to deepening their own understanding so they can better support the well-being and academic growth of every child in our care.
You will notice one important change as we begin the year: our canteen has shifted to selling only Department of Health‑approved items, in line with the Traffic Light System and in partnership with Lunch Box Hub. This is part of a broader focus on healthy lifestyle habits, with more positive changes to come.
A reminder that students in Pre‑primary to Year Six begin on Monday, and our Pre-Kindy and Kindy students commence from Tuesday onwards.
As we start the year, we also encourage families to support strong routines at home—particularly around sleep. A consistent wind‑down routine and adequate rest make a significant difference to a child’s ability to learn, regulate emotions and engage positively in the school day.
We are excited to welcome your children back and look forward to another year of learning, growth and community.
Warm regards,
Michael O'Dwyer
Principal
eRideable Legistation
Our School is committed to ensuring that our students are empowered to travel to and from school safely. We recognise that eRideable devices such as eScooters and eBikes are a popular mode of transport accessible to many within our School community.
Equally, our School recognises that eRideables are subject to legislation that prohibit a child under the age of 16 from utilising these devices.
Therefore, from Monday 2 February 2026, students who are under 16 years of age will not be permitted to use or store an eRideable device on school premises.
Examples of eRideables include but are not limited to:
• eScooters
• eSkateboards
• hoverboards
• eSkates
• eUnicycles
The Road Safety Commission has developed a webpage with information about the Road Traffic Code (legislation) which can assist individuals in understanding their personal obligations where eRideables are concerned.
For more information about eRideables please click on the link below.
We thank you in advance for your support of this initiative which will ensure the ongoing safety of our students and broader school community.
