Principal's Weekly Update

Dear Wildcat Families,

There is no school on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veteran's Day.

We're getting lots of feedback about the upper lot, and cars being blocked due to some parking illegally. Please be mindful of the traffic and parking laws. All of our staff are focused on crossing students safely across the pick-up lanes, supervising all 600 students at once and clearing campus. We rely on our parents/guardians to maintain safety and order in the upper lot - which is also a public lot! Please help us keep it safe for everyone.

BGW School Calendar

School Community Food Drive: Supporting Families Impacted by the Government Shutdown

Due to the ongoing government shutdown, many families are facing unexpected financial hardship, especially those affected by the temporary suspension of SNAP benefits and other assistance programs. To help our families in need, we’re organizing a food drive to provide essential groceries and pantry staples.

📅 Donation Collection Dates: Mon, Nov 10th - Fri, Nov 14th

📍 Location: B. Gale Wilson MS

We’re accepting non-perishable food items, canned goods, baby formula, and hygiene products. Every donation makes a difference. Let’s come together as a community to ensure no family goes hungry during this difficult time.

Families in need will be invited to shop for goods the week after. Huge shout-out to our parent leader for spearheading this endeavor for our BGW community!

Calling All Parents!

Our AVID class is looking for guest speakers to share about their careers and inspire our students! If you’d like to talk about your profession and the path that led you there, we’d love to have you join us. Please reach out to Ms. Parker (AVID Teacher) at rebeccapa@fsusd.org, or school administration if you’re interested in speaking to our AVID class.

PE Uniforms

PE uniforms are now available for purchase at our school store:

PE shirt (gray) long sleeve available as well
PE shorts (black)
PE sweats (black)

Students can also alternatively use/wear a plain gray shirt/sweatshirt and/or plain black shorts/sweatpants. NO logos permitted.

The PE department will begin requiring that students change into uniforms in January upon our return from winter break.

Math Tutoring

BGW holds math tutoring sessions every week. See this month's schedule below:

Both boys and girls teams have been chosen. Practices begin this upcoming week and will be every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Games begin in December.

Tke a break from cooking on Wednesday, November 12 to support our Pizza Guys Dine and Donate fundraiser that runs from 10 AM to 10 PM and gives us back 30%!
