Dear Charger Families,
Spring is finally here, and we have lots of exciting events happening at our school this month! Here's what you can look forward to:
World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser
Our school is holding a fundraiser featuring the World's Finest Chocolate candy bars. If you'd like to participate, you can sell the candy bars to help support our school. Each bar is $1, and they come in a case of 60 bars. Candy bars are expected to be delivered and ready for parent distribution after April 2nd. All money from candy bar sales must be turned in by Wednesday, April 30th. If you would like additional information please contact the front office. Thank you for your support!

Jefferson Night @ FSD School Board Meeting
Jefferson was able to spotlight our AWESOME Student Ambassadors, our HEARTLAND HERO Mrs. Jen Morrison, and our FEATURE TEACHER Mrs. Conaway at the March Board Meeting. It was so great to recognize such WONDERFUL people that make Jefferson the AMAZING place it is! #ChargeAhead #JeffersonChargers
First Grade
1st grade students wrapped up a unit and a writing project about George Washington. The rest of March they have listened to and worked with fractured fairy tales and Nursery Rhymes. Students have taken a deeper look at these stories through comparing and contrasting activities, identifying and discussing the plot of a story, and summarizing important story events in a logical sequence. Check out this great work!
Second Grade
2nd grade students are working on researching to create an informational presentation! They are using multiple sources to find information about an animalโs body, diet, and habitat. They are taking that information to make slides on Google. They will build on the research process for 4th quarter writing.
Third Grade
Fourth Grade
4th graders are having fun researching and investigating the events which lead to the American Revolution! They are working to identify important factual information from multiple sources. Students will then create a timeline placemat displaying key battles and events. This is such important foundational knowledge about the birth of our nation and supports the investigation process. We love asking โwhy?โ !
โโโ Math Intervention โโโ
Mrs. Sullivan's math students have been hard at work practicing their subtraction skills! The nice weather has made math more fun!
Electives
In PE, the 1st-4th graders have been having a blast working on their striking skills, practicing hitting objects with both their hands and other implements. We played Keepy Uppy (shout out Bluey fans) with balloons using different parts of our body including hands, elbows, heads, and more! We have also played Corner Pocket where the kids strike balls with pool noodles to hit the ball into a hula hoop, much like a large-scale pool game. Lastly, we did a station activity that included volleyball, hockey, baseball, and balloon striking with several different implements.
