*NEW* Morning Drop Off Process
As we begin the new school year, we want to share an important update to our morning drop-off process. Beginning this year, all students will enter campus through A Gate located in front of the Early Learning Center (ELC), where our kindergarten and first grade classes are located.
This change was made after reviewing our current drop-off procedures and traffic flow and consulting with our district safety team, including our School Resource Officer. As we looked at the number and flow of cars during arrival, we determined that having one designated student entrance will provide a safer, more consistent, and more easily supervised arrival process for all students.
A few important reminders will help us keep morning arrival safe and efficient:
- Please have students exit the vehicle from the right side, closest to the curb. Students should not exit on the traffic side of the vehicle, as passing cars can create a significant safety concern.
- Please keep morning goodbyes quick and efficient so that vehicles can continue moving and we can maintain a smooth flow of traffic through the drop-off area.
During morning arrival, the front office entrance will be reserved for parents and guardians who need to drop off an item or connect with office staff. Students arriving on time should enter through A Gate rather than through the office. If you need to come into the front office, please park your vehicle in the parking lot before entering the building rather than stopping or exiting your vehicle in the drop-off loop. This will help keep the loop clear, safe, and moving efficiently for all families.
Additional reminders:
As always, students arriving after 7:45 a.m. should enter through the front office to check in and receive a late pass before heading to class.
Our campus opens to students at 7:30 a.m. For student safety and to ensure appropriate supervision, please do not drop students off or leave them unattended on campus before 7:30 a.m. We appreciate your help in ensuring students arrive when staff are present and ready to welcome them.
Dismissal procedures will remain the same. Both gates will continue to be open at the end of the school day, so there is no change to our current afternoon dismissal process.
We know changes to routines can take a little time to get used to, and we appreciate your patience and partnership as we implement this new process. Our priority is creating a safe, smooth, and welcoming start and end to the school day for every student.
