Interested in Joining High School Student Council?

Students, if you are interested in boosting school spirit and morale and making the most of your high school experience, then consider joining student council!

For the remainder of the school year, the Dryden High School Student Council will be holding meetings virtually and through Google Classroom, and it is open to any students grades 9th-12th interested in joining. While COVID-19 restrictions prevent us from holding many events, the student council is still working to plan a Snowcoming spirit week and court ceremony, as well as create sports locker signs and decorate the halls.

If you are interested in joining the high school student council, please contact Student Council Advisor Mr. Cherry (mcherry@dryden.k12.mi.us) or senior president Miya Wolff (miya.wolff@dryden.k12.mi.us).

Together we can still do the most to make the most of the 2020-2021 school year!

On March 9, Dryden won 60-43 over Mayville. "It was a nice win on the road. Mayville is a tough place to play. We had to keep our composure," said Coach DelCampo. Merrick Maris scored 16 points; Jack Kaplan 15; Nate Schenkel 14; Josh Schornak 10; Jacob Burgess 3; and Dylan Ledford 2. DelCampo added, "We had balanced scoring. It's always good to have a good team game."

Jack Kaplan scored 31 points; Merrick Maris and Nate Schenkel 11; Josh Schornak 10; Jacob Burgess and Harry Atkinson 2.

In a league matchup on March 12, Dryden was victorious over Kingston, 49-41. "Our kids really kept their composure. Kingston went on a run and took the lead in the third quarter but we came back. We really played great team defense tonight. That was the difference," said Coach DelCampo. Jack Kaplan scored 21 points; Josh Schornak 11; Nate Schenkel 7; Merrick Maris 5; Jacob Burgess 3; and Harry Atkinson 2. "That was a great high school basketball game," he reported. Brenden Peter

by Lily Finnigan

Brenden is a 7th grader who has been at Dryden for 8 years. Brenden is a basketball player at Dryden as well as a motocross rider. He even plays the bass guitar. Once Brenden gets into high school, he is excited to learn more. His favorite thing about Dryden is it is small so you get to know everyone. Brenden’s dream career is to be in a band, but as of now, he co-owns a band called the California Repierzs. Brenden says the hardest thing about COVID is having to wear masks while playing sports.
