Hawk News2/28/2025Hendrickson High School

Message from Principal Grebb:

February has come to an end, and there's already a hint of spring in the air. As we gear up for an exciting and eventful two weeks before Spring Break, we want to remind our Junior (11th grade) students that the SAT exam is taking place this Wednesday.

This is a fantastic, free opportunity to experience the test and gauge where you stand in terms of college readiness, including the minimum scores required by some universities for admission. My best advice? Give it your all. The great thing about the SAT is that if you're not satisfied with your score, you can always take it again on your own.

Every school day matters—especially these next 10 days. So, let's make the most of them:

Show Up
Challenge Ourselves
Getting Involved

Tardies Tardies

Besides teaching academic content at Hendrickson, we pride our work on teaching life skills that students can take with them into the real world. One of those skills is being early or on time. We have reset tardies for the new year, but have noticed that more students than normal are showing up late for class, especially for the start of the day. We will be closely monitoring the list of students who show up late and assign the appropriate consequence. Please help us remind students that being early or on time is a huge life skill.

The Anonymous Alerts is an anti-bullying and safety app reporting system that helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. Social and peer pressure are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome. Students or parents can submit reports such as bullying, cyber bullying, depression, dating violence, drug or alcohol use, threats against the school, weapons on campus, and more.

The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between the submitters (students, parents, or community members) and District administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.
