Dear Gators,

Halloween on a Friday night!. How lucky are we? You? us? Whatever you do tonight or this weekend, please be safe. Have a ton of fun.

I have a saying for my students after Halloween. "CANDY IS NOT A MEAL". One of my favorite things to do after Halloween is to go trick o treating. Candy does not belong at school. If I see it, it is mine! Please leave candy at home. BUT, if you want to sneak any candy into the principal's office, he would greatly appreciate 100 Grand, Nerds, Sour Worms, candy corn, and AirHeads!

November Breakfast and Lunch Menus November Breakfast and Lunch Menus

As a reminder:

  • One breakfast and one lunch are available every day at no cost to the families for the entire 2025-26 school year. The State of California has instituted Universal Meals at all public schools. With CA Universal Meals, every school must have a breakfast and a lunch available to any student who would like a meal.
  • No school meals application is required to receive meals. However, even though meals are available at no cost, families of students attending non-CEP schools are encouraged to submit a school meal application if they qualify according to the USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines. Families should check the USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines to see if they might qualify (listed on the back of the paper School Meals Application and also linked on the FCUSD Food Services website).
  • Online applications are more accurate and result in a faster response from Food Services.
  • More details and monthly menus are available at the FCUSD Food Services website: https://www.schoolnutritionandfitness.com/index.php?sid=0208131451023969
  • If families have any questions about the application process or any menu concerns, please have them call us directly: Food Services Dept: 916-294-9011

Strengthening Families 2025-26

CORDOVA MEADOWS ELEMENTARY SESSION

***ALL FCUSD FAMILIES WELCOME!***

In this 10 week program, the whole family has an opportunity to learn how to:

  • Bond with family members; listen, understand and validate each other’s feelings, and banish communication boulders
  • Set boundaries that keep kids away from alcohol and drugs, and monitor their activities
  • Pre-problem solve, set up win-win negotiations and say no to potentially dangerous anti-social situations
  • Create positive routines that teach kids responsibility
  • Make contracts for change: teach kids to set goals for success
  • Reduce stress, through mindfulness exercises and re-program the brain to step away from anger

DINNER IS PROVIDED! Children, age 7 and up, are invited to join this program with their families. For younger children, there is a childcare center on-site for parents enrolled in the SFP program.

  • Gallardo’s Neighbors: Please be mindful of our neighbor’s property. We are not allowed to block driveways or wait on their property during morning drop-off or afterschool pick-up.

  • Stewart Street: Gallardo’s parents are asked to park in a designated space when dropping off or picking up a student. Stewart Street is an active lane of traffic and not an area to double park.

Reminders Reminders

  • Early Release on Thursdays: Students in grades K-5 are dismissed at 1:15 pm.

  • Please check and update your access to ParentSquare. Make sure you are getting all the latest information. If you want to receive texts, mark that. We rarely use the “urgent” messages, so if that is all you receive you will not get weekly updates.
