Chester Ronning School
June 2026
Principal's Message
Hello again, Chester Ronning School Community.
Every year, it seems like June sneaks up on us! Just like that, we are wrapping up another incredible year of learning. This is always an exciting season filled with finishing up courses, completing assessments, and, of course, field trips! June is undeniably one of the busiest months of the year. Behind the scenes, we are working hard on a few major fronts:
For Students: Wrapping up learning objectives and final projects.
For Teachers: Finalizing grades, updating report card comments, and celebrating growth.
For Administration: Deep in the planning stages for the 2006-2007 school year.
Amidst all the hustle and bustle, my overwhelming feeling is one of gratitude. I am incredibly thankful for our dedicated team of educators who work tirelessly day in and day out for our students. I also want to extend a massive thank you to our entire school community. Your continued support, partnership, and teamwork mean the world to us. Over this final month, I look forward to catching up with many of you during morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups—I can't wait to hear all about your summer vacation plans!
📌 Two Quick Reminders as We Wrap Up:
Attendance Matters: Thank you for continuing to prioritize your child’s attendance right up until the final bell. These last few weeks of classes are important!
We Are Here to Help: If there is anything you or your child needs before June 24, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
I'd also like to offer a final reminder families can make donations to the Hope Mission, No Child Hungry walk until June 6. CRS participated in the walk on June 3, to demonstrate our support and appreciation for Hope Mission's support of our school, and many others within BRSD. CRS alone has received 30 lunches each week from Hope Mission and dozens of our students have benefitted from their Kids in Action and Horses of Hope programs. If you have already made a donation to this campaign, thank you for supporting Hope Mission to do their amazing work in schools like ours, and if you would still like to make a donation by June 6th, please visit:

Staffing Updates:
At this time of the year, we are also gaining clarity about outgoing and incoming staff for the upcoming school year.
Mr. Pederson will be assuming the Assistant Principal position at Bawlf School, his old stomping grounds. I don't have enough words to express my appreciation for Mr. Pederson and the impact he has had at CRS during his time here, both as a teacher and as an administrator, but I am so grateful to have benefitted from his teaching expertise, knowledge of the school community and his support over the past several years.
Mrs. Bouck, Mrs. Deleeuw, Mrs. Hycha are retiring. These three ladies are perhaps the most well-known staff members at CRS and they have positively impacted countless students and staff during their tenure as educational assistants in our school. Their expertise in supporting students will be very difficult to replicate, but we wish them the very best in their retirement adventures!
Miss Cava is making the move into administration, as Assistant Principal at Bashaw School for the 2026-2027 school year. During the past two years, Miss Cava has established herself as a favourite teacher and colleague for many students and staff. I have no doubt that she will bring similar energy and exuberance to her new school!
New staff for next year: The next Assistant Principal at CRS will be Breanne Buckland. We are also excited to welcome Brooke DeRudder back to our teaching staff, and Sarah Erickson, Jennifer Lechelt and Shannon Lemko will be new EAs at our school next year.
Yours in Education,
Reid Lansing
