Spring and Challenges and Growth and Change
As we head into the coming weeks, there is a lot to look forward to here at Jarrettown.
For our students in grades 3–5, PSSA testing is just around the corner. Our students have been working hard all year long, building their skills, growing their confidence, and learning how to persevere through challenges. This is their opportunity to show what they know. More importantly, it’s a time for them to trust themselves and the effort they’ve put in each day. We are proud of their hard work and know they are ready.
This time of year is also about transitions and new beginnings. On Friday, staff from Sandy Run Middle School will be visiting to meet with our fifth graders. They’ll spend time answering questions, easing any anxieties, and helping our students understand what to expect as they take their next steps into middle school. We are excited for our fifth graders as they begin to take flight and prepare for this next chapter.
At the same time, we are beginning to welcome a new group of learners into our community. Kindergarten registration is now open, and we are already looking forward to meeting the next class of Jarrettown Dragons. For our youngest learners, this is the very beginning of their educational journey—one filled with curiosity, growth, and discovery.
It’s a special season at Jarrettown—our fifth graders preparing to spread their wings, while our newest little Dragons get ready to begin their adventure with us. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership in helping all of our students grow, succeed, and take their next steps with confidence.
In partnership,

📣 DISTRICT REMINDERS
Health Services Reminder: Spring Allergies
Spring is in the air, and so is allergy season! If your child experiences symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, or congestion, please consult your healthcare provider. For students requiring medication, please administer doses before school as directed and ensure all required documentation is submitted to the school nurse in advance. Please do not send any medication with your student without first speaking with the nurse. Simple steps like keeping windows closed, washing after outdoor play, and changing clothes can help reduce exposure, and our school health offices are available for any questions.
